Could we see the animated adventures of Terry McGinnis and the older Bruce Wayne play out on the big screen in a Batman Beyond movie? That's the rumor.

According to the guys over at GWW, Warner Animation Group is currently working on a Batman Beyond feature for theatrical release in 2022, which is being developed partly as a response to Sony Pictures’ highly acclaimed Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

We don't have much more to go on at the moment, but this report is backed up by some concept art for a mysterious Batman-related animated project bearing the WAG logo that was recently shared online. Could that be a new costume design for McGinnis on the right, perhaps?

We'll have to take this with the usual pinch of salt for now, but given the massive popularity of Batman Beyond this would definitely be a smart move on the part of Warner Bros.

What do yo guys think? Drop us a comment down below.

@knocturnalzen10 - I "shed a tear" when I had to shell out for 2 versions of the DVD (cut/uncut). But it was well worth it.

@BillyBatson1000 @blackbeltjones- did you guys ever notice how much darker this series was compared to batman the animated series ... it took me a min to realize it

@knocturnalzen10 - Nah the classic was the season finale of justice league unlimited S2, where they finally gave us Terry's full origin and a conclusion to Batman Beyond. Can't believe they included a reference to 'Mask of Phantasm" too. I cried man tears for bruce, terry, & batman as Amanda Waller says "The world does need a Batman, and it always will."

@knocturnalzen10 - And BTAS was quite dark.

It felt like a natural progression and maturation to the darkness that was in BTAS; BB being the successor to that.

@mastakilla39 - i loved when she said "i've seen powers beyond imagination , but i've seen him save the day with only his body and his WILL" she actually had the most admiration for bruce out of all of the heroes

@mastakilla39 - was never a fan of Terry having half of Bruce's DNA so it was all destiny, but I loved that finale.

Imo, it was better when he was a just a random kid who Bruce trained; like those other random kids: Jason, Dick, Tim, Barbara, etc.

@BlackBeltJones - yes you're very correct but look at the freeze ep or even the fake fantastic 4 one ... those people died in the end of it .or the one where she played that guy for the gang member and he finds out in the end and he's on his table for surgery .... it's implied he killed him lol

@knocturnalzen10 - dark stuff. These shows really pushed the envelope. Its sad that we have to pay for a streaming service to get this content.

Cartoons nowadays are fluff compared to what we used to get.

@BlackBeltJones - exactly brother ... batman animated series won awards and was critical acclaimed. i'll watch recommended anime now compared to the ones we get now :/

@BlackBeltJones - Same here. It really adds nothing in terms of their relationship. If anything if kind makes their relationship toxic
It kind of say's. Terry forgives Bruce just because he's his blood dad.

@knocturnalzen10 - There was a level of darkness that kind of made Gotham, 'not worth fighting for anymore'. The gene-spliced characters, death allusions. Bruce Wayne's era had clearly become old-fashioned when measured against it. Yet it was still his character, his humanity, that grounded the whole series. I hated seeing him so 'frail' tho. But that's what made it work.

@BillyBatson1000 - that was so well said !
it was the moment when he was almost about to shoot a petty criminal per his heart not holding up. where you saw bruce's real vitality :/ that was a sad scene

@knocturnalzen10 - Yep, that was a definite edge of seat moment. Amazing from a 'few lines on a piece of paper.'

That’s an interesting look for Terry McGinnis, if that is indeed concept work for him. Definitely looks less “Irish”.
