Jeffrey Dean Morgan Plays Coy When Asked About The Possibility Of Playing FLASHPOINT's Batman

The Flash's movie is going to be titled Flashpoint but will Jeffrey Dean Morgan suit up as Batman? In a new interview, the actor appears to play coy about the possibility of returning as Thomas Wayne...

Jeffrey Dean Morgan played Thomas Wayne in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and has made it clear on a number of occasions that he would like to play Batman. That's something fans have responded to extremely positively and you have to believe Warner Bros. has taken note (especially as the actor has recently made a name for himself playing the evil Negan in The Walking Dead).

With the Flash's upcoming solo movie titled Flashpoint, the door is definitely open to Morgan suiting up as the Thomas Wayne version of Batman and his response to being asked about that in the video below is very interesting. Asked about playing the Caped Crusader, he points out that, "It's a paradox universe, Flashpoint Batman," before flashing a smile and raising his eyebrows at the audience.

After laughing and covering his face, Morgan insists, "I didn't say [bleep]." It's an interesting reaction and one which makes me think he may have already spoken to the studio about the role. Warner Bros. would be foolish not to cast him (especially as it could lead to a spinoff series) but we're clearly going to have to wait and see for now. What do you guys think? Let us know your thoughts down below.

Man, JDM is such a charismatic dude...
Only reason why i'll watch TWD now.

He would be amazing as Flashpoint Batman, i'll tell you that.
It would be very very cool, but i doubt they will go down that route...

@Doomsday8888 - yea but its no longer a surprise that batman murders becuz snyder already made him kill every1 in bvs and jdm looks about the same age as batfleck so flashpoint batman being an old killer batman is no longer new

Nah, he doesn't know anything, and I don't think it's happening. If you're familiar with him in person or during interviews, he is a very silly giggly person. He was just kidding around, but he was genuine when he said he doesn't know anything about it (i.e. no talks with him).

@MosquitoFarmer -

The fact that he even knows about Flashpoint and it's paradox reality says volumes.

@Battabing - That is true, but to be fair he's been talking about this since BvS cause any number of people have brought it up. And maybe he has discussed it with the studio as a possibility at some point. But from what I gauge here, he's saying there is nothing definitively brought to his attention about it happening thus far.
I'd wager it's too fast for something like that at any rate. Most audiences would be puzzled, and the focus should be entirely on The Flash.

@MosquitoFarmer -
Yeah, I doubt that.

This needs to happen. I know Snyder has casted previous actors he’s worked with in the past in different movies. But it just seems like too much of an effort to cast Thomas and Martha Wayne with these well known actors only for them to not return as their Flashpoint counterparts.

He will be Flashpoint Batman. It's too logical, and a huge part of the Flashpoint story (can't have Flashpoint without Thomas Wayne Batman).

This in my opinion will be the best comic book casting ever. This movie will blow us away.

And by the way, he owns a candy shop with Paul Rudd, which is simply adorable.

Really love that they are doing Flashpoint. Perfect way to course correct the DCEU without totally rebooting/recasting it. Also introduces DC's multiverse for non-comic nerd filmgoers. The indie Scorsese-Joker film and Superman: Red Son won't feel out of place if they launch the multiverse correctly.

@TheBatlist - I think most people do not go into movies saying glad this all connects. Except die hard fans most ppl will not know the difference they want a solid movie that's all.

@Grodd87 - Totally agree, but it would be a nice little nod to the mythology if they could work in the concept. Some of DC's best stories involve character mashups from the multiverse. Would love to see CRISIS or Doomsday Clock work their way into the films further down the line.

@TheBatlist - I totally agree I think if they could do crisis at some point it would be amazing. I think Dc should just go crazy with movies they have so many great stories to put on screen. I would love to see this justice league connecting but would love to see Gotham by gaslight on the big screen and red son even kingdom come not connect to them. Tell great comic stories not just to connect them is the way Dc should go. Some of the bigger stories should stay with the connected universe like crisis and blackest night.

I cannot believe wb only choose him to play thomas wayne for only a few scenes. They had to have him in mind for a possible flashpoint batman

If true, can bet your ass they are planning a spinoff. Honestly, they are probably "planning" every single DC adaptation you could think of right now.

Yes! Bat-Negan has to happen!

Though I agree with others that the violent take on Batman is now less potent after BvS ... but for selfish reasons I’d still love to see it.

They’ve set noting up but are throwing Flashpoint at us. That would be like having Avengers: Infinity War after Iron Man 2.
