Joker: Folie à Deux director Todd Phillips told us it'd probably be a while before we got a look at Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn back when he debuted a promo image of Joaquin Phoenix's Arthur Fleck, but we recently learned that the Academy Award-nominated megastar had started filming her scenes for the sequel, and that day has now arrived!
Phillips marked Valentine's Day by sharing a first glimpse of Gaga as Quinn alongside Phoenix in his Joker make-up from the first film - and it looks like they've been smooooooching!
We assume this is Doctor Harleen Quinzel post-transformation, but who knows what Folie à Deux has in store for this take on the fan-favorite character?
Filming is currently underway in New York, but the production is expected to move to Los Angeles soon.
The Joker sequel won't take place in the same world as the main DCU, and will be known as an "Elseworlds" project, along with Matt Reeves' The Batman movies, J.J. Abrams' Black Superman film, and (most likely) Constantine 2.
Plot details are still mostly under wraps, but we do know that the majority of the film will take place in Arkham Asylum, and contain significant "musical elements." A recent rumor also suggested that Quinn will have a bigger role than originally reported, with the story playing out entirely from her perspective.
Joker: Folie à deux is set to hit theaters on October 4, 2024.
