JOKER & HARLEY QUINN Movie On The Way With CRAZY, STUPID, LOVE Directors At The Helm
It sounds like WB is really doubling down on the Clown Prince of Crime as in addition to their origin movie, they're also developing a Joker & Harley Quinn movie with Jared Leto & Margot Robbie returning!
Hot on the heels of yesterday's report of a Joker solo movie, The Hollywood Reporter has now learned that Warner Bros. has entered final negotiations with Crazy, Stupid, Love directors Glenn Ficarra and John Requa to write and helm an upcoming DC movie based on classic Batman villains, the Joker and Harley Quinn.
Academy Award-winner Jared Leto and Margot Robbie are both expected to reprise their roles from David Ayer's critically reviled Suicide Squad. A production start date is unknown, but the film is reportedly being fast-tracked in order to accomodate Leto & Robbie's holding agreements and is hoping to go into production not long after Robbie wraps the upcoming Suicide Squad sequel, which is currently being shopped to directors.
The Joker/Harley movie is said to be a "criminal love story" between the two murderous psychopaths and will be a part of WB's main DC Films continuity, meaning it will take place in the same timeline as Justice League and not in an alternative timeline like the numerous upcoming spinoffs, including the Joker origin story and apparently The Batman.
