JOKER: Joaquin Phoenix's Clown Prince Of Crime Is Up To No Good In The Latest Batch Of Set Photos

While we've seen plenty of photos of 3x Academy Award-nominee Joaquin Phoenix in his Joker makeup and costume, we still have no idea exactly what kind of nefarious activities his titular villain seems to be getting himself into.

The latest batch of photos feature his Clown Prince of Crime meeting a number of his loyal followers, who were sporting clown masks and holding hateful signs targeting the rich. There are also a few snaps of the actor hanging out between takes, sans makeup.

“Joker” centers around the iconic arch nemesis and is an original, standalone story not seen before on the big screen. Phillips’ exploration of Arthur Fleck (Phoenix), a man disregarded by society, is not only a gritty character study, but also a broader cautionary tale.

Joker features:
Director: Todd Phillips
Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck
Robert De Niro in an undisclosed role
Zazie Beetz as Sophie Dumond
Frances Conroy as Penny Fleck
Brett Cullen as Thomas Wayne
Glenn Fleshler in an undisclosed role
Marc Maron in an undisclosed role
Bill Camp in an undisclosed role
Josh Pais in an undisclosed role
Shea Whigham in an undisclosed role
Bryan Callen in an undisclosed role
Douglas Hodge in an undisclosed role

When this movie was announced it made me a tad apprehensive, in saying that the continuous set pics I see the more joy I get from the idea of this movie. Hope they all do well

I just wonder if this is the final make up or if we will see something else by the end.

I remember when Leto was cast and I thought 'oh shit, what a great choice'. I used to think he was a great actor.

Then I saw his Joker in make-up and I knew it was going to be terrible. Now Leto has gone full Depp in his last few performances.

However, Joaquin Phoenix is levels about Leto and I was hugely excited by his casting. Seeing him in make-up has not dulled my expectations. I'm expecting great things.

Even if the movie ends up being a turd in the wind. Joaquin is one of the few living actors able to polish it.

Filming this movie out of order must suck for Joaquin's mental state, constantly switching between Arthur and Joker.
