Relive The Nightmare Of Joel Schumacher's BATMAN & ROBIN With Mr. Freeze Concept Art

Hit the jump to check out concept art for some of Mr. Freeze's (Arnold Schwarzenegger) gadgets used in Joel Schumacher's disastrous Batman & Robin (1997), created by Patrick von Janicke.

While Arnold Schwarzenegger is currently taking his lumps for The Last Stand being a box office failure, let us not forget the worst film he ever participated in, 1997's Batman & Robin. I'm pretty sure Arnold isn't as ashamed of it as we would like to think, seeing as though he was paid a cool, $25 million. For that type of money I'd deliver silly Mr. Freeze puns all day long. Hopefully this makes you think twice before bitching and moaning about Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy.

I loved this film as a kid, part of the reason I became a Batman fan (I think I was 4 when it came out). It's painful to watch now though.

There was a time when I preferred this over Tim Burton's Batman Returns, which I used to greatly despise. Childhood, you're doing it wrong.

TelaVizion: The Invincible Iron Man cover is a fan-made, though. There are numerous evidences, but it's already obvious through Tony's face - and the background - which is too cartoony in style.

It's a crap movie sure but it's pure camp..trying to capture the 60's tv show vibe.

Nolan films are the super serious / realistic version.

Next Bat-films need to directly adapt from the comics / cartoons & have the outlandish super powered villains such as Clayface & make Bats into a real "Dark Knight Detective".

As a ten year old, this movie was freakin badass. I saw that sh!t 3 or 4 times at the theatre. Fifteen years later, not so much. Although I do remember going to Taco Bell like everyday trying to score the Batman drink tabs. I was always a Batman or an Alfred short of winning the grand prize. What a gyp.

@AmericanPsycho

You said it man. And it probably was a factor in future Batman films going all pretentious and 'high brow' instead of just giving fans the real Batman from the comics. There is a pit in hell waiting for you Mr Schmacher.
