Well, this is a surprise! Marvel's The Avengers was met with unanimous praise from critics and fans alike, but it appears as if The Dark Knight Rises still came out on top for you guys despite the slightly mixed reaction from some. Both films were absolutely incredible in their own way, although Christopher Nolan's epic finale to The Dark Knight Trilogy is definitely the better film (just!) in my opinion. Does that really make Warner Bros. the better studio though? Well, that's what you decide, although it's hard to agree with that considering what Marvel Studios achieved this year by finally bringing Earth's Mightiest Heroes to the big screen. It's also worth noting that there was little love shown for Sony Pictures' Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance and The Amazing Spider-Man! thats pretty accurate. i was expecting spidey to get more votes though it wasn't terrible just average movie any other summer it would have been the number 1 movie of the summer just had the bad luck of going up against 2 power house in the avengers and the dark knight rises

this poll doesn't matter, marvel will win the year, dark knight rises isn't going to outgross the avengers, im not hating on dark knight rises, it's just impossible for it to beat avengers

Having this poll immediately after the release of TDKR doesn't help. I came out of the theater so pumped up from the ending I was on a "batman high" that's going away now and it's clear to me Avengers was a better movie.

ain't nothin mixed about 87% on Rotten Tomatoes. Avengers and TDKR share the same avg rating too. Both were big successes in my mind.

TDKR winning is no surprise, it got my vote. Warner winning? Eh, they did a good job marketing, but as far as securing a good future for comic book adaptations, Marvel Studios is the clear winner. CBMs is what Marvel does. Eh. Majority has spoken (or minority cheated, lol).

Regardless of the poll, Avengers and ASM took it for me this year. Don't understand how WB beat Marvel Studios. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of the TDK trilogy and Batman in general, but the other 2 just edge it out.

Ghost Rider 2 was likely one of the worst superhero films ever made.
The Amazing Spider-Man was not bad just lame.
The Avengers was great but is very much a "comic-book" film.
The Dark Knight Rises was thrilling, smart, epic, and the perfect end to any trilogy.

Even though im a Marvel fan, The Dark Knight Rises is just easily a better film.

I really don't like these polls very much. They allow for multiple votes and regardless of who wins they get accused of multiple votes. It's too bad the system isn't set up to allow for only one vote then disables to prevent further voting. I enjoyed TDKR the most this summer but Marvel is hands down doing far more and breaking new ground this year in completing phase 1 initiative with the MCU and already hard at work tackling phase 2.

Yeah, aside from splitting the vote for Marvel characters 3 ways, I have multiple ways of voting (2 phones, work and home pc, 3 laptops), I could have voted 7 times ... if I lacked integrity.

TDKR & Avengers are both my top movies this year(until expendables 2, Hobbit, Skyfall, Django, etc).


@Marvel72 - By that logic which might be true, TDK is better than the avengers, and so is Ironman. If you get what I'm saying.

Damn, feel bad for the TASM. Deserves more. Ghost rider tho, doesn't.
