THE BATMAN: Josh Gad Says "We'll See" When It Comes To Playing The Penguin

Josh Gad finally explains those recent Tweets which have everyone talking and explains that he's very much interested in taking on the role of The Penguin in Matt Reeves' The Batman. Check it out!

The Batman may have a director, but with Joe Manganiello unsure if he'll be suiting up as Deathstroke, we have no real idea what may be on the way for the Caped Crusader in this movie. It's possible then that a villain like The Penguin will show up, and with Josh Gad getting fans talking with intriguings posts on social media, a large group of fans would love to see him take on the role of this iconic villain.

When MTV caught up with the Frozen star recently, he insisted that he was "just having some fun" and that "there's nothing there" in regards to him having any talks with Warner Bros. about The Batman.

Gad did, however, say that he's a fan of Reeves' worth and that, "I would absolutely be open to playing the Penguin in the Batman movie. There’s nothing more we need to talk about. We’ll see."

You have to believe that the studio has taken note of the fan support for Gad and the huge amount of attention his Tweets have generated (Channing Tatum was cast as Gambit after expressing an interest in interviews even if the movie still hasn't become a reality). Will he wind up with a role in The Batman? That remains to be seen, but we'll hopefully hear something sooner rather than later.

@ThinkBillCipher @SanDevil

He's too young for Affleck's Batman and he's not creepy enough.

@BrettMan - Ben's Batman is too old for the entire DCEU

Hard to see these younger casts with a much older batman but still think he could pull it off

He could do well with the part. Back before they announced Bane for TDKR I thought a great idea would be to have a Riddler like we got in the Arkham games and for Danny Devito to play a toned down yet creepy version of his Penguin.

@CaptDeadpool - He's repeatedly said that the Penguin is his favorite role that he has played.

I want Giamatti fo the role, he brings the intensity and gravitas needed.

@HubbleFunk - As he did with the [forced Slavic accent] "Rrrrrrrhinoooo"?

@Faris - No. And unless TASM2 and The Batman's writers are exactly the same, I doubt he'd work with such terrible dialogue. You can't define an actor by a 10 minute performance.

@HubbleFunk - Yes. It would be brilliant for him to get the role.

No thanks. Penguin needs to be older, intimidating, and preferably English like the Arkham games.

@E4Nigma - Eddie Marsan for Penguin.

@Killuminatic - That's a really good recommendation. He also starred in Beowulf & Grendel, V For Vendetta and Hancock. One of those actors that when he appears, you recognize him but the name is not commonly known.

Could be his time.

@E4Nigma - He would a good choice. I'm still partial to Nick Frost. Proper age, English, a comic nerd, and he is killing it on Into the Badlands right now.

@inkniron -

To each their own. I've been a fan of Nick Frost since Shaun of the Dead. He definitely has the talent and look for Penguin.

I think that English guy who played Peter Pettigrew in the Harry Potter movies would be a perfect Oswaldo.
