The Dark Knight Rises Will NOT Use the Occupy Wall Street Protest

Entertainment Weekly was contacted by a representative of Warner Bros. and says Nolan has no plans to shoot in Zuccotti Park, the home base of the OWS protesters.

Last week the L.A. Times was notified by an anonymous source that cast members were informed that that scenes for Christopher Nolan's latest Batman film could be filmed at the Occupy Wall Street. It now appears that the rumors are just that, a rumor.

While Christopher Nolan will begin filming portions of The Dark Knight Rises in New York City over the span of the next two weeks, a Warner Bros., rep tells EW that there are no plans to shoot in Zuccotti Park, the home base for the OWS movement. After an open casting call for NYC extras for the project hit the web, rumors swirled that the project could be filming very close to, if not directly in, Zuccotti Park. Last week an anonymous source told the LA Times, “Cast members have been told the shoot could include scenes shot at the Occupy Wall Street protests” and that Nolan could be using “the protests as a backdrop or a stand-in for something that already exists in the film,” but that simply doesn’t seem to be the case.

The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters July 20th 2012 and stars Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Michael Caine as Alfred Pennyworth, Garly Oldman as Jim Gordon, Tom Hardy as Bane, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake and Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate.

I'm lookin over the skyline of the city
How loud, quiet nights in the mist of crime
How next door to happiness lives sorrow
And signals of solution in the sky

A city of justice, a city of love
A city of peace, for everyone of us
We all need it, can't live without it
Gotham City, oh, yeah

Yet in the middle of stormy weather
We won't stumble and we won't fall
I know a place that all of us shelter

Thanks Dahamma I think it gives it a more Batmobile than military feel. Rugged enough for 2012 with some 60's style.

Good. The only thing these people have proven is they have nothing better to do with their time. Chances are, if you have weeks to spend sleeping in a tent in the middle of a city, you have very, very little value to offer society.

A lot of these people look like college graduates who are unemployed because that liberal arts degree didn't go as far as they thought it would. Now they have all the time in the world to squat in a park, and the funny thing is if they would've put half of that effort and passion into their education, they'd be a hell of a lot closer to the 1% by now.

Good...I'm glad this was nothing more than an internet rumor....

I'm tired of hearing about and seeing these stupid [frick]s on TV.

Nothing more than a few pissed off college students, recent grads or old hippies screaming about stuff they ABSOLUTELY JACK SHIT about. All the while, breaking the law and inconveniencing everybody around them.

Glad that rumor isn't true, it seemed like a really bad idea. It would have taken people too far out of the film and dated it too. I don't want to be recognizing New York when I'm supposed to be seeing Gotham. It's gonna be hard enough to erase LA when I'm watching cause I live there.

@Kevberg - You are wasting your time. He is a liberal pretending to be a "centrist" that wants to believe that these people are "patriots." They are naive, at best. This will just end with you shutting down his arguments, and him calling you names. At some point you just have to realize the futility of arguing against someone who doesn't possess the intelligence to argue back.

Look up the last article about TDKR & Occupy Wall Street and read the last couple of pages of comments if you need to see it for yourself.
