THE DARK KNIGHT (2008) reunites director Christopher Nolan ("The Prestige") with star Christian Bale ("Empire of the Sun"), who returns to continue Batman’s war on crime. With the help of Lieutenant Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman) and District Attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart), Batman sets out to destroy organized crime in Gotham for good. The triumvirate proves to be effective, but they soon find themselves prey to a rising criminal mastermind known as the Joker (Heath Ledger), who thrusts Gotham into anarchy and forces the Dark Knight ever closer to crossing the fine line between hero and vigilante.

THE DARK KNIGHT (2008) was directed by Christopher Nolan, from a script written by Jonathan Nolan, David S. Goyer and of course Christopher Nolan himself. The film starred: Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Heath Ledger as Joker, Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent/Two-Face, Michael Caine as Alfred, Maggie Gyllenhaal as Rachel, Gary Oldman as Gordon, Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox, Cillian Murphy as Scarecrow, and Eric Roberts as Maroni.

Why can't more movies be this epic?

These are not behind the scenes screenshots. These are simple screen grabs from the film. What the hell?

The great thing about that scene is that you don't need to be a comic fan to see that it is awesome. It transcends the genre. If that scene was just a regular detective movie with Heath's performance it would still be great. It is what I both loved and disliked about Nolan's Batman movies. Great movies and great performances(minus TDKR) but not a very good adaptation of Batman's source material.

Cap 2 is a good movie but i feel it gets overrated too much. IMO it doesn't even touch the greatness of TDK and I don't think any CBM will in a while.

Batman Begins will always be my favorite of the trilogy, but this scene was my favorite out of all the films. Maybe any comic book movie, really nails each character and their history while building upon the suspense of the plot. Perfect acting.

Great movies transcend their genres. The Dark Knight is not only the greatest comic book movie but a fantastic crime thriller and action movie as well. It's one of the greatest movies of the decade.

I just watched Batman Begins today, now that's a definitive origin movie, followed by TDK and Rises, great, great trilogy...Think Captain America is going down the path of being the best cbm trilogy for Marvel, maybe even of all cbms, if Cap 3 delivers and tops Cap 2, think we'll have a new champ, imo...

Yeah, I'm definitely a Marvel guy, but give credit when credit is due, see my comment above...I grew up on DC, love the characters too, can't wait for the DCCU to get going...it's strange to me comic book fans can't enjoy both studio's offerings...

"TDK...most...overated...film...ever."

I guess you think the second "r" in the word "overrated" is overrated too.

1. The Dark Knight Rises
2. The Dark Knight
3. Batman Begins
4-10. Whatever
