Heath Ledger won "Best Villain" for The Dark Knight at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards, though it was announced before the show on the red carpet by MTV News correspondent Sway during an episode of the reality series "The Hills."

Ledger was an accomplished and acclaimed actor before Joker..but i agree its a shame hes not around to see his legacy.

As for this Mtv award, its great and all but take a look at the rest of the winners! Doesnt really say much for an award shows credibility when Twishite wins ANYTHING..except a razzie

the winners this year really sadden me and make me not want to watch the awards any more, the show wasnt even funny this year

Twilight was terrible from inception to end. A teen beat wet dream that will be as easily forgotten as britney spears or Miley Cyrus but ppl will remember pics of britneys cooch longer than they will ever remember her music.

And no, nobody should be upset that Twilight won best whatever... Your disdain just means you're not 12 anymore (MTV seems to be run by them now) and you have out grown the angry pseudo goth/emo phase and so see Twilight as fluff. I stopped watching MTV circa... what... 2000. I was in junior year at college and Real World stopped being “real,” and became the hot drunk chick, the gay guy, the angry black guy, the hick or ADHD reject (those two were interchangable), the goth girl, the Mormon, the frat boy, and the slut, all made in the Ken and Barbie life mold. You say which city was that in? I say what city hasn’t that been in since Miami. Oh and MTV just completely stopped playing music at all. Damn, I am an old.

what i really hated was that they didnt even do a proper presentation of heath ledger's award, they just randomly announced it like some stupid commercial. why would anyone wanna diss a dead guy, thats really low. also how in hell did twilight beat the dark knight for best picture is beyond me.
