Rick Baker has worked on classic films such as “Hellboy”, “An American Werewolf in London”, “The Ring”, and “The Rocketeer” to list a few.  Now, Baker has brought his talents to recreate The Joker from Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo’s “Death of the Family” arc.

Back in July, 2012 Greg Capullo had this to say about his interpretation of The Joker,

Capullo: "You know, I'm happy to be doing this because I look at it as an opportunity to have fun. So no, this is going to be a blast.  Let's put it this way. I would have put my own slant on the way the Joker looks traditionally anyway.  Now I can go down the road of, like, Texas Chainsaw Massacre stuff.  And I'm a heavy metal guy, so stuff like Slipknot pops in my head, you know? So I'm going, "Yeah! Something really, really dark and creepy!"  It amplifies it. We're turning the Joker up a notch, you know? If you can turn the Joker up any higher."

Here are some images Baker shared on Twitter.  Does Baker do Snyder and Capullo’s vision justice? Will we ever see this Joker on the big screen?  Sound off in the comments

I. Love. It.

Love Death of the Family. Never understood the hate. Now DOTF Joker isn't my favorite Joker design but I would still love to see that and the arc in a film.

Having said this, no [frick]ing way WB would ever let Joker look like this in a film with him wearing his face.

But still [frick]ing awesome and [frick]ing perfect.

Hellboy is a "classic film"? I like the movie, but how is it a classic?

Thanks for not answering me, Levi. I'm not surprised you did reply considering you worship the Hellboy films. I'm sorry, but 10 years do not make a "classic".

@Ramiel

11 years actually.

So is Spidey 2 not considered a classic? How about Batman Begins? The Dark Knight? Iron Man? Bioshock game of course not a film (which came out 9 years ago).

How long does something need to be a classic?

For the most part, the New 52 sucks,

BUT Snyder and Capullo has brought some of the best Batman stories of all time and I love every second reading them.

Court of Owls was amazing, DOTF was a masterpiece, and Zero Year was great too. I haven't read beyond that though.

@LEVITIKUZ Hellboy is so amazing, both of them.

No way is Hellboy a classic film. Here is a definition of a classic film: "often distinguished or unique works of cinema that have transcended time and trends, with indefinable quality. Classic films are often universal favorites that hold up after repeated rescreenings."

How does Hellboy qualify based on that definition? It doesn't to me. It's a good movie, but a "classic"? Ha!

"often distinguished or unique works of cinema that have transcended time and trends, with indefinable quality. Classic films are often universal favorites that hold up after repeated rescreenings."

I would say that's Hellboy. Hellboy is distinguished and a unique work of cinema unlike any other film. What other film has a demon from hell that was brought into this world by the Nazis in which this demon is suppose to destroy all of humanity but instead the US found him & he was raised by a Catholic scientist. That alone is distinguished and unique.

Hellboy is also universal favorite. Hell not trying to sound trolling but it got better reviews than AOU and on top of that, Ebert gave it 3.5/4 stars.

The film still holds up even after repeated viewers.

Hellboy is a classic.

It may not be an overall film classic but no doubt in comic book films it's a classic.

The only movie on that list that could be considered a "classic" is An American Werewolf in London. None of the others are classics. Maybe cult classics, but not classics.

@Levi

Yes, as a CBM it's a "classic" as you would say, but it's not a classic film at least how film historians would say. I love the Hellboy films. I think they are great CBMs. I don't know if I would call them "universal favorites" though since I don't think many people outside of CBM fans have seen the movies like they would have Dark Knight, Spider-Man 2, and Iron Man. This is the reason why we have yet to see a third Hellboy film like we have with Spider-Man, Batman, and Iron Man.

@Ramiel You've spent over half an hour debating with someone over the internet as to whether or not a Comic Book movie is considered a "classic". Go do something productive.

"Hellboy is a classic."

If you are extremely young, sure.......

That's like saying my old 1993 Infinity was a classic

Ramiel's salty 'cause Thor got shafted in MCU till now. Hellboy didn't and it was awesome. It's a CBM classic.

What does Thor have anything to do with this conversation? I have no problem admitting that the Hellboy movies are superior to the Thor movies. The Hellboy films are totally embrace the fantasy where the Thor movies are afraid to. There's a reason why I want Del Toro to write and direct Thor 3.

25 years at minimum makes something a classic- like with cars. But first it helps if the thing in question is good in the first place- which Hellboy isn't. Just because something existed and time passed, doesn't mean it's a classic.

Hellboy will become a classic with time. It's too good a film not to. It transcends the "cbm genre" and is just a great piece of art on it's own.

@LEVITIKUZ

Hellboy is definitely a classic

A comic book movie classic
A cult movie classic
A Ron Perlman classic
A Guillermo del Toro classic

It is a classic, I really hope they finish a trilogy and make Hellboy 3, it could easily be one of the best CBM trilogies
