LEGO's Batman Returns Batmobile Recreates One Of The Movie's Coolest Features

LEGO is finally giving the Batman Returns Batmobile the collector treatment it deserves. Arriving next month, this 2,269-piece set is a tribute to Michael Keaton's iconic ride.

LEGO's made a ton of Batmobiles over the years, but this might be the one to beat.

Just revealed today, DC fans are getting the LEGO DC Batman: Batman Returns Batmobile, and it's a beast. That's 2,269 pieces recreating one of the most iconic rides in Batman history, straight out of Tim Burton's 1992 classic.

LEGO didn't cut corners on the details either. There's the absurdly long body, the signature rear fins, and a massive jet turbine practically exploding out the back. Pop open the canopy and you get a fully decked-out cockpit, plus a sneaky Easter egg hidden in the build, The Penguin's own tracking device.

The best part though? It actually transforms. Just like in the movie, the Batmobile can shed its outer shell mid-build to become the Batmissile, recreating that iconic alley squeeze scene. It's basically Batman's own quick-change trick, now in brick form and with a simple press of a button.

To accomplish this, LEGO had to think outside the box. Rather than reusing old parts, they engineered three brand new elements just for this build, including an all-new Batman cowl, plus the included minifigure rocks an exclusive molded cape you won't find anywhere else. It even comes with its own display stand, so Batman can strike a pose long after the build is done.

I'm old enough to remember when LEGO sets were aimed towards kids, but this set, like most these days, are designed with collectors specifically in mind. The LEGO DC Batman: Batman Returns Batmobile will be priced at $229.99, which I suppose is cheaper than what we've seen some of these collectible sets sell for. But it's still clearly meant for display and not play.

The set will be available for LEGO Insiders Early Access beginning on September 1, 2026, and on September 4, 2026 for the rest of us. Here are the official product details:

  • Age: 18+
  • RRP: £189.99 / €209.99 / $229.99
  • Product Number: 76355
  • Pieces: 2,269
  • Dimensions: Measures over 4 in. (10 cm) high, 17 in. (45 cm) long and 6.5 in. (17 cm) wide

Prior to today's announcement, the most iconic LEGO Batmobile set was probably Michael Keaton's Batmobile from Tim Burton's Batman. Released in 2019, this was another collector-level build with 3,306-pieces. It measured more than 23 inches long, and included Batman, Joker, and Vicki Vale minifigures. It also had a sliding cockpit, rotating display stand and hidden pop-up machine guns.

The Batmobile Tumbler from The Dark Knight trilogy is also another beloved set among collectors. This one released in 2021 and boasted 2,049 pieces, along with Batman and Joker minifigures.
