Marketing for The Batman has kicked up a gear as 2021 winds down, and promotional material for the movie is now being spotted in theaters. Most of the posters have already been officially released, but we do have a first look at an awesome cinema standee inspired by the final shot of the recent DC FanDome trailer.

In related news, Matt Reeves' upcoming reboot has topped IMDb's most anticipated movies of 2022 list, beating the likes of Thor: Love and Thunder, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (though something tells us this sequel might have placed higher after No Way Home's release), and The Flash.

Check out the full list below along with the standee and the latest international trailer.

1) The Batman

2) Scream

3) Thor: Love and Thunder

4) Top Gun: Maverick

5) Killers of the Flower Moon

6) Jurassic World: Dominion

7) Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

8) Mission: Impossible 7

9) Uncharted

10) The Flash

"Two years of stalking the streets as the Batman (Robert Pattinson), striking fear into the hearts of criminals, has led Bruce Wayne deep into the shadows of Gotham City. With only a few trusted allies — Alfred Pennyworth (Andy Serkis), Lt. James Gordon (Jeffrey Wright) — amongst the city’s corrupt network of officials and high-profile figures, the lone vigilante has established himself as the sole embodiment of vengeance amongst his fellow citizens."

“When a killer targets Gotham’s elite with a series of sadistic machinations, a trail of cryptic clues sends the World’s Greatest Detective on an investigation into the underworld, where he encounters such characters as Selina Kyle/aka Catwoman (Zoë Kravitz), Oswald Cobblepot/aka the Penguin (Colin Farrell), Carmine Falcone (John Turturro), and Edward Nashton/aka the Riddler (Paul Dano). As the evidence begins to lead closer to home and the scale of the perpetrator’s plans becomes clear, Batman must forge new relationships, unmask the culprit, and bring justice to the abuse of power and corruption that has long plagued Gotham City.”

The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Paul Dano as The Riddler, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Andy Serkis as Alfred, and Colin Farrell as The Penguin. The movie is set to hit theaters on March 4, 2022.

The Batman, Mission Impossible, Top Gun, Thor and Doctor Strange probably fill out my top 5, but I'm also kinda interested in Uncharted and The Flash. I have really low expectations, but I still kinda wanna see 'em anyway.

Also, how is Black Adam not on 1? Isn't something in the DC Universe gonna change?

@bkmeijer - you mean the balance of power? I hear that's gonna change.

@Doomsday8888 - Bale's and Pattinson's Bruce Wayne's seem so similar, yet so different. Really hope The Batman will vastly different from the Dark Knight trilogy, yet just as great.

Also Batman Begins might just be my favorite Batman movie, and I kinda hope The Batman ends up topping it

@Waddles

Only seen one person comment on it so far:

Heard great things out of a certain Anti-hero film that screened tonight. The cut was rough but the highlight was the action even with unfinished affects, also I’d start reading up on the JSA

Very brief.

@LiteralSense90 - Avatar 2 might do it just because it will be one of those movies people will see because they e made such a huge deal out of it but I doubt it will be as good as the first.
Wakanda Forever seems like a doomed project, I want it to succeed but I don’t see it happening with all the pressure and misfortunes plaguing that production.

Okay, that standee is pretty damned awesome! Love it!

I'm gonna call "SHENANIGANS!" on that list. You're telling me SCREAM is in second place only behind The Batman? Doctor Strange is below Love and Thunder? Top Gun is ahead of Mission Impossible? The Flash makes the list but Black Adam doesn't? And what the hell is Killers of the Flower Moon?

I found the Standee, cardboard and rather two-dimensional with no plot.

No John Wick? While I'm not interested in it I would figure Avatar would be on here.

No Black Adam or Black Panther 2 on the list?

The DCEU is going all out in 2022

With 4 Massive movies

@WakandaTech - I think because
1. It’s later in release.
2. We don’t have any marketing material.

"though something tells us this sequel (Doctor Strange 2) might have placed higher after No Way Homes release"

Y'all really can't admit when DC has something ranked higher than a Marvel property. Quit making stupid excuses, this is ridiculous 😂

@FleischerSupes - it’s on Netflix, by Jane Campion. Not your typical shooty Western at all, very much subverts the usual tropes. Requires ur attention n patience, I loved it, hope u do too!

These lists can be so weird. Not that The Batman isn’t going to be huge and isn’t highly anticipated but they just can obviously be seen not to actually accurately describe the amount of people excited for these movies.
