To be fair, Kilmer's last suit in 'Forever' had nipples, too.

I would say that Kilmer is in a photo finish with Bale as the best actor to have played Batman. The problem in judging his performance is his turn is the true transition in tone of the character and the movies. His Wayne/Batman deals with camp, ridiculous sets and costuming, and lack of creative storytelling.
