VIDEO GAMES: Does BATMAN: ARKHAM KNIGHT Statue Reveal A MAJOR SPOILER?

Amazon have posted an image of the statue which comes with the special edition of Batman: Arkham Knight, and it appears to give a major spoiler away both about the game and how this series may be brought to an end! If you don't mind finding out, hit the jump to check it out!

Take a close look at the plaque on the statue below, and you'll see that it reads: "From a Grateful City In Memory of the Gotham Knight" and so appears to have been constructed as a way of paying tribute to the Dark Knight. Does this mean that the iconic DC superhero will be killed off in Batman: Arkham Knight? It certainly appears so! The identity of the game's titular villain remains a secret of course, but this is one HUGE reveal before its release and could be an indication of how this iteration of the Caped Crusader's console adventures will come to an end. What do you think?

Batman: Arkham Knight is the final installment in the Batman “Arkham” video game series, which began with Batman: Arkham Asylum, Batman: Arkham City, and a prequel title, Batman: Arkham Origins. The series will bring its trademark style to the Batmobile for the first time ever, giving players the option to either grapple above the streets of Gotham or tear through them in the armored behemoth (but let’s be honest, they’ll go with the latter). The Scarecrow, who hasn’t been seen since Arkham Asylum, will ascend as the game’s primary villain, along with the mysterious new Arkham Knight character. Kevin Conroy will once again bring The Dark Knight to life as the voice of Batman.

Interesting idea killing him off. I hope it doesn't happen, but I won't complain if it does. As long as Kevin Conroy gives a kick butt performance I'm good.

That seems like a boneheaded thing to write on a game's packaging if it's true. That's kind of like writing "Darth Vader is Luke's father" on the Empire Strikes Back poster.

I always get first when it doesn't matter lol... and I'm such a Marvelite it's ridiculous....

BUT

From the get-go these games have been absolutely beautiful.

Batman dying to save Gotham and the city recognizing him for all that he's done for them is the best way to end his journey imo. I really hate that in so many iterations he ends up a sad, pathetic and miserable old man.

I doubt it, it's a statue that comes with the special edition, you have to see it before playing the game. No way they'd spoil it for people who paid extra for the game.

I always thought Batman might die in AK, but they kind of did that in TDKR so I'm not sure.

A huge risk.

But if Arkham City was truly Marks final voice over for the Joker. Then why not give a proper sendoff to Kevin Conroy in Arkham Knight.

It makes perfect sense.

That doesn't exactly mean he died. Could simply be he is getting some love while he is still kicking ass and taking names or retired.

Or what if it ends with him sitting in the Batcave looking at the reports that the city has finally been reclaimed with the villains all taken away. Alfred says that he deserves a nice long rest as a reward and Bruce thinks about it when suddenly the Bat-Signal goes up again and he says to Alfred:

"This is my reward."

He then hops in the Batmobile and drives off.

I heard a really good one. Knight is actually Bruce Wayne who's been driven crazy due to secretly being locked up in arkham. The whole game youre playing as hush impersonating Batman. That's why knight wants to take you down. I hope they go with that.

He could die, then all members of justice league turn up at his funeral.... then the next game will be a justice league game with dick greyson as batman! ... maybe...

That doesn't make sense from a game standpoint, most play the side-missions after they finish the story. If he's dead that's not possible.

I don't think that anyone really has the balls to kill off Batman. Frank Miller didn't and Chris Nolan didn't. I doubt Batman is going to die ya know why? Because he's BATMAN.

What if this statue is placed here after the events of Arkham City and Batman hasn't been seen for a while and Gotham presumes him dead or retired.
