VIDEO: Marketing For THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Goes Subliminal (Sort Of)
It seems like something strange is going on with the marketing for The Dark Knight Rises in the UK. Channel 4 (the network which recently released a new international trailer for Prometheus) have been flashing the film's logo between commercials and you can see a video of that here.
Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ "The Dark Knight Rises" is the epic conclusion to filmmaker Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy. The screenplay is written by Christopher Nolan and Jonathan Nolan, story by Christopher Nolan & David S. Goyer. The film is produced by Emma Thomas, Christopher Nolan and Charles Roven, who previously teamed on “Batman Begins” and the record-breaking blockbuster "The Dark Knight." The executive producers are Benjamin Melniker, Michael E. Uslan, Kevin De La Noy and Thomas Tull, with Jordan Goldberg serving as co-producer. The film is based upon characters appearing in comic books published by DC Comics. Batman was created by Bob Kane.
During a commercial break of Come Dine With Me on Channel 4 this evening, the logo from The Dark Knight Rises flashed up between each advert, finally culminating with the one labelled "The Legend Ends" as seen in the video below. This may just be a cheap bit of advertising by Warner Bros. in order to increase interest in the movie before they start showing full-length TV spots (seeing the Batman logo continuously flashing up is sure to intrigue anyone that doesn't follow news on the film as closely as the rest of us). On the other hand, it could also be building to something else altogether. Perhaps the release of a brand new trailer (as the network did for Prometheus during the season finale of Homeland) for example? Stay tuned...
