Charles Roven Confirms PG-13 Ratings For All DC Films Through JUSTICE LEAGUE 2
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice producer Charles Roven has been talking a lot about the DC Cinematic Universe as of late. Now, in yet another interview with Collider, Roven talked about Warner Bros.' current superhero movie slate & its PG-13 rating! Hit the jump for details...
As you know, Warner Bros. has confirmed that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Suicide Squad will be PG-13. While many thought that some of these films (notably Suicide Squad) was going to be rated R, Warner Bros and company took a very different approach.
Recently, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice producer Charles Roven sat down with Collider and shared his thoughts on the PG-13 ratings, and DC's current slate as a whole. "Right now the movies that we’re making, the movies that have been announced by Warner Bros., I would say those are all intended to be PG-13 movies." Roven then elaborated and said that even though they might try to do a Rated R film in the future, the films in front of them now are all PG-13. "I can’t tell you something may not come out of left field or we might get inspired to develop a different character, but the ones that are in front of us right now through [Justice League 2 are] PG-13."
While Warner Bros. changing the rating of their films is every bit of possible, they certainly seem to be strong on centering their universe around the PG-13 rating. With 20th Century Fox's Deadpool among the few superhero films tagged with the Rated R rating, it'll be very interesting to see what other studios do if Deadpool is a major success in the box office.
