Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is just a few weeks away and the film has officially started its marketing campaign. Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill sat down with Good Morning America's Jesse James Palmer to talk about their roles as the iconic comic book characters, Batman and Superman. Cavill and Affleck spoke about getting physically prepared for their roles, the fight between the two heroes, keeping the story interesting, and talking to previous actors who donned the Dark Knight's cowl (Clooney and Bale).

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters everywhere March 25th, 2016.

Fearing the actions of a god-like super hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before. Starring Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, with Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, and Holly Hunter, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is directed by Zack Snyder, written by Chris Terrio from David S. Goyer's screenplay.

Of course Superman wouldn't kill Batman instantly. If you were to put them in a cage deathmatch and they both wanted to kill wach other, Superman would kill Batman like nothing. But that doesn't make a compelling story, and isn't who Batman is.

Batman is a master tactician. He might be arrogant, but he isn't going to challenge THE MOST POWERFUL BEING ON EARTH WITHOUT BEING PREPARED. He is going to use every possible advantage he can find. Just look at the Batman: Hush fight between Bats and Supes. Supes is trying to hold back, even when under the spell of Poison Ivy. Batman takes advantage of this, to no avail. Even with a krytonite ring, Batman is unable to stop him. But Batman has one more trock, and that is he uses Superman's love, LoiS Lane, to snap Clark out of the spell.

Superman is an inherently good character. Out of the Justice League, it can be assessed that he is the most hunan character, the most noble, kind and generous. But he is flawed in that nobility, he is too noble. Batman can and will take advantage of that.

It's about making a compelling story and using the characters in an interesting context. Sometimes Batman doesn't need to "win" he just has to make a point. In The Dark Knight Returns, even with the mechsuit, the kryptonite arrow, Superman takes him down. But Bruce has a heart attack. Which kind of made a point to Superman.

This movie isn't so much about the fight, as it is about changing the character's opinions about each other

I think the best thing to do would be do what Marvel did with Avengers. Ironman and Thor fought without a clear winner. Batman and Superman should fight to a stalemate similar to the Thor v Ironman fight.

@marvelstudios - I honestly believe that Snyder and Terrio wrote it that Superman finally beats Batman. Here's how I imagine it: Batman and Superman have been going at it for awhile and Superman finally recovers from the kryptonite attack from earlier rips Batmans armor off. He holds him up by his neck choking him and says "I don't want to hurt you. I don't want to hurt anyone." And Batman replies "Tell that to the dead bodies buried because of you and your kryptonians. What's another dead person with a broken neck?" Superman lets him go and says nothing, with a sadness and regret (from killing Zod) in his eyes, and Bruce can finally see the humanity in Superman.

@Kr08 - That actually sounds pretty good. Just hoping whatever Snyder and Terrio wrote isn't a disappointment. Batman and Superman fighting is a big moment in CBM.

@marvelstudios - I have faith in Snyder and the way he's devoted to the source material, and I believe in Terrio to write some incredible and thought provoking dialogue.

Have you seen the new Daredevil trailer? That included some perfect comic book character portrayals, especially when Punisher says "You hit them and they get back up. I hit them and they stay down."

marvelstudios - 2/16/2016, 9:04 AM
@Kr08 - Snyder is one of my favourites, but Man of Steel did disappoint. Hopefully this isn't the case.

The trailer was great. This could be the best portrayal of the Punisher yet. But i'm looking forward to part 2 of the trailer. I want to see more of Elektra.
Kr08
Kr08 - 2/16/2016, 9:13 AM
@marvelstudios - I got excited that it's actually two trailers and Elektra is all of part two. I'm hoping they have a villain that brings them together for a pre-Defenders beat down
marvelstudios
marvelstudios - 2/16/2016, 9:17 AM
@Kr08 - Yeah, that's the thing i'm a little confused about. Who's the main villain of the season?
Kr08
Kr08 - 2/16/2016, 9:21 AM
@marvelstudios - Personally I hope they surprise and use Bullseye, but they would need maybe an Arkham Origins deal where Fisk or someone equally as bad hired villains to kill Daredevil and Punisher. Maybe Punisher, because from the looks of things, he's causing hell for all thugs
marvelstudios
marvelstudios - 2/16/2016, 9:29 AM
@Kr08 - There were rumours about Bullseyes involvement, so who knows.
