Olga Kurylenko Comments On Being Up For 'Wonder Woman' In BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DOJ

Of course we know that Fast And Furious actress Gal Gadot ultimately ended up with the role, but back when rumors were flying around left right and center as to who would play Wonder Woman in Batman V Superman, the far more experienced Olga Kurylenko was also on the shortlist (along with Elodie Yung). Kurylenko had previously starred in the likes of Hitman, To The Wonder, Centurion and most recently Oblivion alongside Tom Cruise, and seemed to be the fan-favorite for the role out of the actresses mentioned. When DesdeHollywood asked her about it, the Ukrainian beauty says it did "cross her mind", but that she's happy for Gadot, and looking forward to the movie.

"If I could have been [Wonder Woman]..well, because, everyone was saying that it was a possibility. It did cross my mind. But it’s fine, you know. There are many other roles. I am very happy for the girl that’s got the part. I am looking forward to seeing it.""

Would you have preferred if Kurylenko nabbed the role? Or are you happy with Gadot? let us know in the usual place.

I like her as an actress. However I've only seen her and Oblivion. But she's worked with Ben before.

She seems like a nice woman, but I'd rather someone w/ room to improve as an actor get the role than someone who isn't a good actor.

It's really hard to cast for this role I think. Looking forward to seeing Gal's interpretation, but haven't seen anything yet that has me convinced. :-/

The perfect woman for Wonder Woman doesn't exist. No one has the perfect body and can act. But personally I think they could have done better than Gal Gadot.

I'm not sure which is more important for Gadot: that she beef up a little or take some English lessons.

I'm pretty sure none of you would've said that Gadot was a good actress before they cast her as WW.

Maybe Gadot is a bad actor because she hated every role she has been in... I say give her a chance with Wonder Woman.
MrBlackJack

Out of all the rumored actresses (that have been confirmed) I was pulling for her the most. It went (Alexander would have been first), Kurylenko, Gadot, Young, personally.

She was my pick. I'd seen her in a few movies and she proved she could act in To the Wonder and Oblivion..plus she had the best look imo. I am happy with Gadot now though, but there's no doubt Olga had the experience factor.

I would have picked her. Loved her in Golden Eye.

But the directors must have seen something in Gal Gadot to make her the #1 pick.
