We know from the trailers that Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice will feature a scene in which the Caped Crusader uses his Bat-signal to get Kal-El's attention, but from the looks of this concept art there was - and possibly still will be - a moment that saw Supes commandeer the signal and use it for his own ends. An attempt to get under the Dark Knight's skin, perhaps? There's also a very cool new shot of an armored-up Batman with his cape blowing behind him.

“Following his titanic struggle against General Zod, Metropolis has been razed to the ground and Superman is the most controversial figure in the world. While for many he is still an emblem of hope, a growing number of people consider him a threat to humanity, seeking justice for the chaos he has brought to Earth.

As far as Bruce Wayne is concerned, Superman is clearly a danger to society. He fears for the future of the world with such a reckless power left ungoverned, and so he dons his mask and cape to right Superman’s wrongs. The rivalry between them is furious, fueled by bitterness and vengeance, and nothing can dissuade them from waging this war. However, a dark new threat arises in the form of a third man: one who has a power greater than either of them to endanger the world and cause total destruction.

The superhero stand-off that the world has been waiting for is finally arriving in cinemas, with an all-star cast bringing to life the characters we all love. Zack Snyder (300) returns as director following the huge success of 2013’s Man of Steel, along with Henry Cavill (The Man from U.N.C.L.E.) in the role of Superman. Also starring Ben Affleck (Gone Girl) as Batman, Amy Adams (American Hustle) as Lois Lane, and Gal Gadot (Fast & Furious 7) as Wonder Woman, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is an explosive, action-packed blockbuster that is sure to thrill DC fans everywhere.”

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters March 25th, 2016.

@DavidGray - Kinda looks like it's the Nolan TDK suit too actually. You can see what looks like the armor plating the TDK suit had on his side and thigh, but with a different utility belt, cowl and gloves.

@DavidGray - There was that rumor that they offered Bale $50mil to return as Batman so maybe this is from then.

@teragon - Yeah, I see it too. It could be our minds playing tricks tho, lol.

@GuardianAngel - I read that. I love Christian Bale's Batman, but it really is for the best that they started anew... in my opinion anyways.

That is an evil trick on Superman's part. Batman thought James was summoning him and clearly that isn't the case. Also smart move on Batman's part of hiding in the shadows too.

@BlackIceJoe - Also looking at the first picture it looks like Batman is guarding machine gun turrets or even tanks. Batman is ready for a fight.

With upcoming films “Suicide Squad” and “Batman v Superman” both climbing the DAR-Film leaderboard, Warner Bros. has claimed the lead as the studio with the most anticipated comic-book adaptations of the year.

Among the slew of comic book films set for release in 2016, including new “Captain America” and “X-Men“ adaptations, early social and digital tracking places “Suicide Squad” and “Batman v Superman” 500% stronger than competitors based on standing at the same point pre-release. “Batman v Superman” is currently the #1 film by volume, followed by “Suicide Squad” and “Deadpool.”

Very interesting- So not only is that Nolan's emblem on the signal, and also not only is that Bale's batsuit, but that's the very same roof and location used for the batsignal in The Dark Knight. If you're to watch the scene in which Dent and Gordon talk to Batman regarding Lau's trip to Hong Kong, that small building to the right of Superman is actually the door Gordon enters the scene by, and the building further to the right can be seen in the scene as the camera rotates. The windows in the scene are also paired by two, separated by thicker "pillar" like structures. It definitely seems Bale's return was considered for the film, very interesting.

As others have pointed out this is more than likely VERY EARLY conceptual art considering the inclusion of Nolan's TDK emblem and an alternate, highly CBM-accurate design for Batman.
