411 Mania is the latest site to have caught up with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice director Zack Snyder after Bob Kane was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and the filmmaker has revealed even more interesting details about the highly anticipated release. After confirming that they're now "pretty far" in to production, he was asked about the chances of a new trailer and confirmed: "I think we got to have a trailer soon." Fingers crossed he means this year! Talk quickly turned to the fact that he's using Batman v Superman to essentially create the DC Extended Universe, and Snyder offered a detailed explanation as to how he's going about that. "Listen. I want to — we’re working toward Justice League, and I really want to create the — part of the thing I really want to create is the possibility of a world where they could exist together. I think up to this point, it’s been difficult to suggest a world where Batman and Superman and Wonder Woman and others could exist in the same universe. That was one of the things I really wanted to try and get at. Not to mention, the amazing opportunity to bring those characters and have those characters tell an important story, their own story, within the confines of a film."
As for the Batmobile, Snyder dropped even more details about this take on the iconic vehicle, and it sounds like it's definitely going to have a lot in common with the version from Batman: Arkham Knight. "Zack Snyder: You know it has all the kind of fun stuff. It has the countermeasures — we always talk about the countermeasures because people are like, 'What the heck is countermeasures?' You know if I shot a missile at it, flares would pop out of those holes and stop the missile from hitting it. So that’s fun. It’s got this crazy gun [on the front part of the vehicle]. It’s super-fast. It’s electrified. It can do all the other Bat-car stuff. But the cool thing I liked about it is that it’s a purpose built Batmobile, right? Which is kind of fun to get back to that." We've obviously seen a lot of images and footage of the vehicle since it was first unveiled, but what exactly it's capable of doing isn't something we've really been clued into until now. It sounds pretty damn awesome based on this description from Snyder, but those countermeasures aren't going to do Batman a whole lot of good if that scene from the Comic-Con trailer is any indication.
Finally, the site asked Snyder if he will be making a cameo appearance in the movie, and it sounds like we're going to have to keep our eyes peeled! "You won’t see my face. I pick some things up, but that’s it." What do you guys think of these latest Batman v Superman details?
