As Marvel begin to turn their attention to their less well-known superheroes, by far the biggest character yet to get a movie announcement is Black Panther. Although most of us feel it's only a matter of time before we get some official word on the project, for now we have to make do with rumor and speculation. Still, that's been enough for quite a few big Hollywood names to put themselves forward to play the role if and when it eventually comes together, and the latest is the incredibly talented star of Boardwalk Empire, Michael K. Williams. While talking to Cinemablend about his latest movie Kill the Messenger, he didn't mince words when it came to his ambitions to be a part if the MCU, and particularly his fondness for T'challa. When asked if he'd been approached by the studio, he replied:"No not yet. And I'm saying 'yet' with a lot of emphasis. But hopefully I'm looking forward to being apart of the franchise." Williams then specified the role he has his eye on. "Black Panther. Yeah, definitely. I grew up with it, but I'm more excited about the opportunity. I'm a little more old school. I was into Superman, Batman, Spider-Man. My three top favorites by far. And then you know Wonder Woman, Aquaman -- you know that's my world. That's my childhood. I would definitely bring that quintessential New York City edge. You know, just a little bit of that grit." Do you gusy think Williams would be a good fit for the role?
