Chadwick Boseman Remains Coy on BLACK PANTHER Rumors

While promoting his new sports-drama Draft Day, Chadwick Boseman was shrewdly questioned on whether there was any truth to his interest in portraying Black Panther for Marvel. Check it out!

Awhile ago we learned from Latino Review that Boseman was possibly Marvel's top choice to play the king of Wakanda. Soon after he expressed a deep interest in the role, and of Green Lantern for Warner Bros. But thanks to BlackTree TV, is it possible that he and Marvel have had discussions about bringing Black Panther to the silver-screen? Seconds before the ending of the interview, Boseman was asked about his involvement. He simply responded with “I don't know anything. There's a rumor, yeah [chuckles].” Thoughts?

I would like to see him in more films that aren't biopics. Maybe BLACK PANTHER will allow him to get more roles

Dude Is an Amazing Actor! I would honestly be surprised if Marvel has not even at least considered him for the role.

No way this guy is Black Panther material.
He's too soft looking. BP needs to be imposing & intimidating.
Boseman is poor choice.

Seems about right though I wanted Chiwetal Eijofor, especially since he was in Joss Whedon's Serenity

I like Boseman and wouldn't be upset if he got the part, but my hope is on Aldis Hodge getting the part. He is a very good actor is already in incredible shape, does parkour and is very athletic. He could easily step into the role

His response was very "Ruddish", as in Paul Rudd-ish

@Wayne

I agree Boseman is probably the better actor, but I think Hodge fits the role better. He has a look the can be regal but also imposing. Also, Boseman after his last few movies is on his way to becoming the next Denzel Washington. He is the type I can see wanting to branch out in more creative ways rather than be hamstrung by a minimum 6 movies deal which would limit his availability for other roles.

Hodge, while a good actor, hasn't reached that level of notoriety where he conceivably has his pick of roles for a talented young black actor like Boseman has.

I'd like Ryan Gosling to play Panther. It can be a story similar to Moses where T'Chaka finds him when he is young and decides to raise him as his son, thus becoming the future king of Wakanda.

He would be good choice but I'm not sure if he's committed. We need actors and actresses who are committed to having a role as a Marvel character and when I mean committed, I mean they need to be in every Marvel film they will be in. Even if it has to be a cameo or small role.

Wait! He was not from "12 Years a Slave"?... He will never do!... Only modern afros will understand the plight of the past 200 years of negro oppression and will feel the need to enact it now...

Marvel should definitely go back to hiring young actors. Ruffalo, Downey, Rudd... They'll be gone before y'know it.

Best pick for Black Panther is actor Billy Brown.
He's been in Dexter,Sons Of Anarchy,Hostages & many movies.

He's a solid actor with a very impressive physique & he has a great deep voice.
He would be believable as someone who could portray T'Challa.
Need someone who looks like a man not a boy.
