Although we didn't get an official announcement, it seems production on Marvel's solo Black Widow movie has begun on the island of Vigra in the village of Sæbø Norway.

Several photos and a video of star Scarlett Johansson shooting scenes as Natasha Romanoff have found their way online, and they give us a look at the Avengers: Endgame actress once again sporting Widow's signature red locks as she makes her way down the street in what appears to be civilian attire.

Although plot details are still under wraps, it's believed that this movie will take place between the events of Captain America: Civil War and Endgame, while also flashing back to Romanoff's past in Russia as a KGB assassin. There are also a couple of photos of Johansson with blond hair which would seem to support this.

Black Widow still doesn't have an official release date, but it's been speculated the the movie will fill the previously announced spot of May 1, 2020.

So what are we thinking te real reason for this movie is? She acquired some sort of cosmic get out of jail free card which will make her ressurection in the future possible?

@IronGenesis - I think it's just a prequel. Nobody dies when being sacrificed to the Soulworld. So some future cosmic movie will bring her back, probably Guardians, but for now I'd bet this is simply a prequel

@KingCipher - I’m not sure but has there been a cOmplete stand-alone MCU Film? That would be different. And different could be enteraining.

Maybe...

I'd rather this be purely a prequel/origin story focusing on her, Hawkeye & Fury with a Bucky appearance, but I'm excited either way. Hope it has a Winter Soldier feel to it. More Black Widow please!

This kinda looks like the Civil War hair, so I think there is some credence to this being set between Civil War and infinity War. Although I would prefer that setting, I wouldn't mind having flashbacks to her pre-/early SHIELD days too

I love Black Widow from Winter Soldier. Her look and her role in the film was excellent. I hope that the film has that tone!

@Forthas - couldn't agree more. Actually, the character was great in all the Russo films, but TWS really elevated her for me. Can't wait to see this movie

The big question is whill she have an accent? At least in the flashback scenes? That has been a bit offputting for me this far with the character.
