BLACK WIDOW: Natasha Romanoff Goes Home In Emotional Alternate Ending Scene BLACK WIDOW: Natasha Romanoff Goes Home In Emotional Alternate Ending Scene

An alternate ending scene from the upcoming home release of Black Widow has found its way online, and this is so much more effective than the conclusion to the movie we got that it's genuinely baffling to think that it was ditched in favor of... Nat meeting up with Mason.

The sequence begins with a group of kids playing Avengers as Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson) arrives on her motorcycle to get one last look at the house she spent time in with her "family" as a Russian sleeper agent in Ohio. The little girl pretending to be Black Widow recognizes her, and the two exchange a touching moment.

This scene would have served as an emotional final farewell to the Fallen Avenger and her legacy as a hero, but, for whatever reason, the powers that be decided it was more important that we discover how she came by that Quinjet from Avengers: Infinity War.

Black Widow is set to arrive on Digital platforms on August 10, and on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD on September 14. What did you guys make of this alternate ending? Drop us a comment down below.

You know you have a good disguise when a random kid on the street recognizes you!

@TanukiTrooper - It’s because she wasn’t wearing her baseball cap and sunglasses.

@TanukiTrooper - think that might just be the reason they ended up cutting it

@WeaponXCII - we joke about it, yet most of us missed mysterio in the background of far from home.

This would’ve hit better.

Ending we got was so hollow.

@BlackBeltJones - this is cringe ngl

@heyy1 - more cringe then just randomly cutting to Natasha saying she's finally doing the civil war ending?

@heyy1 - it’s surprisingly endearing imo. It easily could've been cringe.

@Origame - tbf everytime I see a scene where a child is looking up to a superhero I can't take it genuinely, it feels staged and corporate

@BlackBeltJones - All the blonde wig endings were terrible. It should have ended when Ross captured Black Widow, instead we get some BS answer from the director/writer that its up to imagination on how she escaped Ross's capture.

this is the problem when you start vfx and shooting the action scenes 1st then write the script and characters later. black panther suffered the same fate with an underwhelming train fight and quick jump to oakland too.

@mastakilla39 - the good thing with BP is at least the Oakland ending made sense narratively and the writing around it was well done

That is a really nice scene- wonder why they decided to change it (I bet it’s because of future plans). It probably would have hit better, but I’m trying to think back to the movie where she would’ve been going to/coming from.

Kinda think they should've just ended the movie with Ross arriving and then cutting to the credits before making the meeting up with Mason the mid-credit scene.

@bkmeijer - Agreed. Mason was created as a plot device and not as character. It bothers me how that whole ending was handled. The rest of the movie is good though. Probably somewhere in the middle of my ranking.

This is cheesy. Glad they cut it out.

Yeeaaaaa, that should've been in there right before she rides off to see Mason at the end. Would've really drove home how Yelena was wrong to claim she was still just a killer earlier in the movie

This could have been a nice addition as a montage before the actual ending. As it stands it hits differently after Yelena's talk with her about being a poseur for being a stone cold killer and a "role model". I'm not sure the movie did enough to separate the two for this scene to be impactful, but it is cute. I just think the scene with Mason and her dialogue about having two families, felt a bit more poignant(especially with the Avenger theme kicking in).

Lame. She’s not someone kids should be looking up to. Also this movie should have been a straight up spy thriller. Leave the super hero stuff to the super heroes.

One of my main minor issues was the movie not ending on a more emotional note. Could have made it a tear-jerk moment. This was a step in that direction, but still not there.

(P.S. They hung on that ending bioluminescence shot for an oddly long amount of time.)

It's cheesy AF, but I really like cheesy comic-book scenes so I kinda love it.
