Black Widow is now playing in theaters and on Disney+ Premiere Access, and after months of speculation, the true identity of the mysterious Taskmaster was finally revealed.

If you haven't seen Black Widow yet, major spoilers follow.

Many fans were convinced that O.T. Fagbenle's Mason would ultimately be unveiled as the highly-skilled baddie, but when the character was unmasked towards the end of the movie, we found out that Dreykov's enforcer was actually his own daughter, Antonia, who Natasha believed she had killed many years before.

Now, Olga Kurylenko has spoken about her "villainous" role for the first time, touching on the work that went into keeping Marvel Studios' secrets (not even her own mother knew she was involved with the movie), and a potential future for the character in the MCU.

"I kept the secret, but it’s not that difficult for me," the Oblivion actress tells /Film. "Of course, obviously when people would speak about the film it was strange. Even my mother said, 'Oh Olga, I saw this trailer.' That was a year ago, not now, but it was supposed to come out a year ago. And she said, 'I want to see this great film, Black Widow.' And I was like, 'Oh yeah, yeah. We can go together.' And I had to pretend I didn’t know anything."

At the end of the film, manages to administer the red gas to Antonia and free her from her father's control, and we last see her boarding the helicopter with the other Widows. This obviously leaves the door open for the character to return, and although Kurylenko says she'd "love" to reprise the role, she has no idea what Marvel Studios has in store for Taskmaster.

"There’s so much you can do. She’s going to be, I think, conflicted between the bad and the good, and probably torn in all directions and try to figure out which way she wants to go," she says when asked what her hopes for Antonia are. "But I think because underneath she’s a vulnerable human, she could be explored in all sorts of ways. The thing is, she could be always caught up in that power and manipulated again. So that’s always a danger. It’s always a danger to keep away from being possessed and concentrate on keeping her freedom."

"But it doesn’t mean that she’ll succeed at it. And there’s always bad forces that will try to capture her, I would imagine. It’s that kind of character. The character’s too valuable and too skillful to let go. Obviously, even though the main baddie is gone, there’ll be others that are going to try and do it. I would just imagine. I know nothing at all, I’m just speculating."

It certainly sounds like Kurylenko has given some thought to a possible return! What do you guys think? Would you like to see Taskmaster again, and if so, in what capacity? Drop us a comment down below.
