Disney+ has shared a new TV spot and poster announcing the news that Black Widow will be available to all Disney+ subscribers at no extra charge starting from this Wednesday, October 6.
This coincidentally comes hot on the heels of Disney making things right with Scarlett Johansson by settling that well-publicised lawsuit with the actress. Black Widow being released on Disney+'s Premier Access service for $29.99 the day it debuted in theaters was the root cause of the conflict, but now that's been resolved, the actress is expected to continue her working relationship with the studio.
The action-packed feature film unravels the mystery of Natasha Romanoff’s past and her path to becoming an unrelenting spy and assassin. Filled with regret and the desire to right her wrongs, Natasha reunites with people she once considered family in order to destroy the organization that tore their lives apart. Scarlett Johansson reprises her role as Natasha/Black Widow, Florence Pugh stars as Yelena, David Harbour portrays Alexei/The Red Guardian, and Rachel Weisz is Melina. “Black Widow” is directed by Cate Shortland and produced by Kevin Feige; Eric Pearson penned the screenplay.
"Black Widow is Bourne meets Bond meets Terminator...with two outstanding, badass female leads," we said in our review of the movie. "Action-packed, funny, and at times surprisingly gut-wrenching, Cate Shortland's vision for the MCU is bold, empowering, and utterly unmissable."
By now, it's hard to imagine many Marvel Cinematic Universe fans having missed Black Widow on either the big or small screens; however, getting to watch it for free at home really isn't a bad deal.
Check out the announcement below ahead of Black Widow's premiere on Disney+ later this week.
