Kevin Feige Says He's "Excited To Continue Working With" BLACK WIDOW Star Scarlett Johansson

The upcoming Black Widow movie will more than likely mark our final time seeing Natasha Romanoff in action, but star Scarlett Johansson recently admitted that she hasn't completely ruled out a return to the MCU down the line. Now, Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige has also weighed in on the possibility of working with the actress again - though not necessarily with her in front of the camera.

“Marvel is always about new beginnings and Scarlett Johansson is such an amazing partner for us," Feige tells Entertainment Tonight. "She was a producer on this film. She was the one that brought us our amazing director, Cate Shortland, and I am excited to continue working with her in any way possible if we’re so lucky.”

Shortland reportedly turned down the offer to helm Black Widow initially, and only agreed when Johansson contacted her via Zoom and convinced her to reconsider.

Romanoff heroically sacrificed herself to give her teammates a chance to undo Thanos' universe-decimating actions in Avengers: Endgame, and since Shortland's film is a prequel story set between the events of Civil War and Infinity War, the chances of us seeing the character again - post-Endgame, at least - are very slim.

Johansson might well decide to stay on board as a producer for an upcoming project, or even try her hand at directing. Whatever the future holds, fans will get to bid farewell to the original Black Widow when the movie hits theaters and Disney+ Premiere Access on the 9th.
