Warner Bros. has developed a bad habit of delivering disappointing DCEU cameos in its DC movies, and a new report suggests Black Adam will be the latest to send fans home unhappy. Read on for details...

When Justice League was released to overwhelmingly negative reviews, it appeared that was it for Henry Cavill in the DC Extended Universe.

The actor, who had been unable to shave his moustache (grown for his Mission: Impossible - Fallout role), worked on reshoots with facial hair, leading to a hideous CG jawline that made Cavill the subject of ridicule. Reports of clashes between him and the studio followed, including a failure to come to terms on suitable compensation for a cameo in 2019's Shazam!.

With no Cavill, that movie delivered a faceless Superman appearance that disappointed fans. Peacemaker followed suit, showing heroes like Batman, Wonder Woman, and the Man of Steel hidden in shadow, though the HBO Max series did at least enlist Ezra Miller and Jason Momoa as The Flash and Aquaman, respectively.

Now, word from recent test screenings (via a number of reliable online leakers) suggests that this October's Black Adam will also feature a faceless Superman cameo. Fans have dreamed of the two characters crossing paths for years, but not if the Man of Steel is only shown from behind or the neck down!

If recent rumours about The Flash are any indication, that movie will wipe Cavill's Superman out of existence and replace him with Sasha Calle's Supergirl, so what the point of this cameo will be is hard to say.

Interestingly, shortly after these claims about an appearance from Superman in Black Adam started doing the rounds, Dwayne Johnson Tweeted out the following:

From New Line Cinema, Dwayne Johnson stars in the action-adventure Black Adam under the direction of Jaume Collet-Serra (Jungle Cruise). Nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the almighty powers of the ancient gods - and imprisoned just as quickly - Black Adam (Johnson) is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world.

Johnson stars alongside Aldis Hodge (One Night in Miami) as Hawkman, Noah Centineo (To All the Boys I've Loved Before) as Atom Smasher, Sarah Shahi (Sex/Life) as Adrianna, Marwan Kenzari (Murder on the Orient Express) as Ishmael, Quintessa Swindell (Trinkets) as Cyclone, Bodhi Sabongui (A Million Little Things) as Amon, and Pierce Brosnan (James Bond) as Dr. Fate.

Black Adam will electrify audiences in theaters when it's released on October 21, later this year!

People talk alot crap about The Rock (myself included, sometimes) but he and Cavill have a close working relationship I believe. I'd like to think he won't do him dirty and will bring him in. He has a lot of pull in the industry to make it happen. Dude's ex wife is both their agent, he's about family, no matter what Vin says. 😅

@UnderBelly - if anyone can bring Cavill back into the fold, it's The Rock. That man has the clout

So I guess DCEUs Superman from now on will be like Ms. Bellum from The Powerpuff Girls.

Just get Cavill back. I'm sure he's willing to show up for one scene if he can fit it in there with his Witcher 3 filming schedule.

Anyway, I hope we'll get a Shazam & Superman vs. Black Adam movie after this. And a Supergirl & Superman vs. Brainiac movie. And a Wonder Woman & Superman and a Aquaman & Superman movie. Okay maybe the last two don't need Superman appearances, but I hope we do get to see Cavill return.

@ClungeAndThunda - I don't know what the demands are, but I'm sure it isn't a big loss for WB to give in compared to what the Flash is gonna be

"but not if the Man of Steel is only shown from behind or the neck down" - damn giving superman the butter-face treatment.

I think The Rock didnt know the powers he was dealing with by teasing that, when it ends on another faceless cameo, the Cult with tear him apart.

Just recast already, Cavill is not coming never, nor he should.
