Ah classic Josh, praising whatever hashed together shit Feige and Co. put out and kicking a failing studio while it's down.

Taonrey - 12/9/2022, 11:11 AM
@FilmGuy7878 - huh? Josh has shit on plenty of marvel flicks, dude has some issues but he definitely isn’t just a marvel fan.
FilmGuy7878
FilmGuy7878 - 12/9/2022, 11:19 AM
@Taonrey - Most of the articles I've seen he's is slightly Marvel bias. Maybe it's just me hating Love and Thunder but then loving Hawkeye, NWH, Werewolf by Night, and Wakanda Forever and just simply liking Shang-Chi, MOM, Ms. Marvel and She-Hulk

@FilmGuy7878 - nah his opinion is pretty varied

@FilmGuy7878 - I mean…. 2022 only had two dc movies lol, there a lot to complain about with josh but he definitely doesn’t have a marvel bias, dude has dragged plenty of mcu films.

BassMan - 12/9/2022, 1:04 PM
@FilmGuy7878 - a lot of people loved and liked those shows and flicks. Other than She-Hulk, which I did like, they were all solid if not great.
FilmGuy7878
FilmGuy7878 - 12/9/2022, 1:28 PM
@BassMan - I didn't mind She-Hulk. Most of the hate came from anti-woke incels who get squeamish anytime they see a POC or woman doing something impactful in a CBM. It's not the most organized series (especially the ending) but every character involved was super funny and likable and I can't wait to see Tatiana's Jen Walters involved in more films and shows. Especially getting her to cross over with the X-Men considering John Byrne popularized both her and the X-Men in the 80s.
BassMan
BassMan - 12/9/2022, 4:26 PM
@FilmGuy7878 - yeah the anti-woke crap crowd got ridiculous with this one, but I can understand not being into a lawyer comedy show with superhero dressing. It was enjoyable enough for me, I’m not super picky like a lot of people with this stuff. The biggest disappointment for me has been Thor LaT, in phase 4 anyway. And there was still stuff I liked about it
FilmGuy7878
FilmGuy7878 - 12/9/2022, 4:59 PM
@BassMan - Yeah LaT was a massive letdown considering how talented of a director Taika is. I heard that the film was cut down a lot by execs and that may be in part to why it suffered (most of the stuff they cut out was about Gorr who deserved so much better than what he was given). But No Way Home, Hawkeye, Wakanda Forever and Werewolf by Night was top tier stuff for Phase 4.
BassMan
BassMan - 12/9/2022, 5:25 PM
@FilmGuy7878 - yeah I heard the same, these execs need to let directors do their thing. It almost never helps the end product. And totally agree with those shows and movies. MoM and Shang Chi were pretty great imo, wish there was more multiverse stuff in MoM though
FilmGuy7878
FilmGuy7878 - 12/9/2022, 5:32 PM
@BassMan - I feel like that would be a given though. More multiverse stuff in a movie called MULTIVERSE of Madness lol.

Although I think it's impressive Johnson got Black Adam made in the first place and got Cavill to return as Superman, I doubt he has enough clout to win this fight. Especially with the movie barely breaking even.

@bkmeijer1 - Cena has all the clout with Gunn… the Rock better start kissing up to his old Wrestlemania nemesis lol

[frick]ing hell Josh…

We get it you don’t like the movie but you don’t need a list article about why every damn day…

It's as if Johnson thinks he is Black Adam. Which is kinda cool.

This isn’t the first time the rock has reacted like this, He’s went on defense when Baywatch didn’t do the number he expected.

DeadClunge - 12/9/2022, 11:11 AM
I'm gonna need another 4+ articles to gauge how you feel about this movie Josh. I have a feeling you didn't enjoy it but I'm not yet convinced!!
99OPTIMISTPRIME
99OPTIMISTPRIME - 12/9/2022, 11:12 AM

I just wish he would've made the movie sooner and collaborated with Zack Snyder. At least had it been more tied to the Snyderverse, it would've gained a little more hype. I do think though, by insisting that Cavill return as Superman, it puts pressure on James Gunn to not reboot the character.😂
GeneralZod
GeneralZod - 12/9/2022, 11:19 AM
@99OPTIMISTPRIME - This biggest mistake was not tying Shazam (Billy Batson) to fight Black Adam at the end. It's gotta confuse the hell out of the audience of non-CB geeks as to why Black Adam is not tied to the Shazam franchise, at least not from watching the Black Adam film. And then Superman shows up at the end. Which attenuates Black Adam from Shazam further. Almost like watching the two Venom films and wondering where the heck is Spider-Man. I thought "Black Adam" was a fun watch, and a good character, but just poorly plotted vis-a-vis Shazam/Billy Batson.

"if somewhat underwhelming, box office numbers"

lol

It was a financial flop

Why are some people scared to say it

a 300 Million budgeted movie ( produce & advertise) makes only 400 Million

That is a flop

No spin can change the fact that movie theatres take 30%-50% of the gross

Due the math

bobevanz - 12/9/2022, 11:13 AM
Okay now do am article on Rogan saying Johnson should admit taking steroids. Oh it's coming I'm sure lol
VileBlood
VileBlood - 12/9/2022, 11:33 AM
@bobevanz - lol. Rogan makes up stories about kitty litter boxes in schools so why would anyone make an article about an elitist boomer like Rogan?
GhostDog
GhostDog - 12/9/2022, 11:15 AM
I think the other two or three list articles already set the stage for what’s going on with this movie that being said the Rock is a really defensive individual when it comes to box office

Still think Adam should actually be someone of some kind of Middle Eastern descent. Not a big ol dried up crusty yella c*mstain

Given the frustration that the Rock endured with the old regime at Warner Brothers putting the Black Adam franchise together and their refusal to use Henry Cavill, if I were the studio, I would totally understand and not hold that against him. I think that Black Adam was a bad film I somehow kind of liked, but there was NO clear direction coming from the studio so in that vacuum he did his own thing. Comepletely understandable and Warner Brothers should know this.

I’m heading thru my sources that WB management and the balance of who oversees what is a little crazy with The Rock and his team joining the DCEU - meaning he’s making sure he’s being heard and noticed …
