BLACK WIDOW Star Scarlett Johansson Returning To Marvel Studios For Project Unrelated To Natasha Romanoff

Avengers: Endgame and Black Widow star Scarlett Johansson is reportedly set to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but it won't be as Nathasha Romanoff! Find what Kevin Feige had to say here...

At the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles last night, Black Widow star Scarlett Johansson became the 35th recipient of the American Cinematheque Award. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige was there to pay tribute to the actress, praising her "talent", "vision," "intelligence and savvy" as both a producer and performer.

However, the executive also dropped quite the bombshell when he teased a "top secret Marvel Studios project" that will see Johansson reteam with the studio. Before you start getting your hopes up about a Black Widow return, though, Deadline notes that this will have nothing to do with Natasha Romanoff.

Johansson, who become the first MCU actor to executive produce a Marvel Studios movie with Black Widow, will serve as a producer on this mystery project as well. Whether this means she'll also star is hard to say, though we wouldn't be at all surprised if the plan is for the actress to help develop a solo outing for Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova (without stepping in front of the camera again).

"Scarlett has lent her talent and star power to the Marvel Cinematic Universe for over a decade. That she’s chosen to play a key part in it for so many years, I am extremely grateful for," Feige noted. "Working with [her] has truly been one of the most memorable and rewarding collaborations of my career."

Black Widow was released simultaneously in theatres and Disney+, leading to a lawsuit that saw the actress sue Disney. That's all been resolved now, though, and we know Feige played a role in calming things down between the two sides. Hopefully, we'll learn more about Johansson's MCU return soon.

What project do you think she'll be involved with?
