With Phase Five fully underway, Deadline has learned a key piece of casting news for the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as they're now reporting that English actress Mia Goth (XPearl) has joined the cast of Marvel Studios' Blade.

No details on her part just yet, but it's rumored that she'll be playing Dracula's daughter Lilith.

She joins a cast headlined by 2x Academy Award-winner Mahershala Ali (Luke CageSpider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse) as the titular vampire hunter, with Delroy Lindo (Da 5 BloodsThe Harder They Fall), Aaron Pierre (OldKrypton), and Milan Ray (Charm City KingsThe Wonder Years) rounding out the supporting cast.

Kit Harington (Game of Thrones; Eternals) was also rumored to be part of the cast, but a recent report has made it somewhat unclear whether he will return as the Black Knight in this feature or a future Marvel adventure.

Plot details remain under wraps, but filming is tentatively scheduled to begin in May/June, so expect more casting news in the coming weeks.

Primetime Emmy-nominee Yann Demange (White Boy Rick; Lovecraft Country) is directing the feature, with a screenplay from Emmy-nominated screenwriter Michael Starrbury (When They See UsLegends of Chamberlain Heights).

Bassam Tariq was previously attached to direct, before stepping down last September. Stacy Osei-Kuffour and Beau DeMayo wrote prior versions of the script, but it's believed that Starrbury started from scratch and wrote an all-new iteration that has presumably now been approved by both the studio and Ali.

Goth is best known for her role in the slasher film series, namely and Pearl, which both released last year and were critical and commercial successes. She's set to reprise her part as Maxine Minx in the franchise's upcoming third and final installment MaXXXine. Her other credits include, but are not limited to, Nymphomaniac, EverestA Cure for WellnessSuspiriaHigh LifeEmma, and Infinity Pool.

Blade is set to hit theaters on September 6, 2024.

Oh hell yeah this is the best news to come out of this movie since Mahershala’s casting.
Idk who she could be playing but she’s a great horror actress

Here's hoping armor Wars isn't far behind in the good news department either.

HELL YEAH! I hope they really lean into the vampiric horror elements while still being action-packed and pushing that PG-13 rating they're obviously going to get.

I don't know who she is but this seems to be the first movement we have seen on this one in a while. Love Blade and Marhershala Ali is a great actor. With the right pieces this could be great.

@mountainman - Until Blade passes the mantle onto his daughter in the first movie...

@CorndogBurglar - Ugh. Why must you remind me of the rumors that really wouldn’t shock me if they were true. I really try to pretend like future stuff like Blade, X-Men, FF, etc won’t get ruined like the last few years of Marvel have been.

@mountainman - Fingers crossed for all of their projects.

But considering Ali was pissed at the way the movie was shaping up and that he almost walked from it, I think the whole passing of the mantle thing is true. What else about the story could possibly cause him to want to walk? When you think about it, he was signed to play a hugely popular fan-favorite character in the biggest movie franchise of all time. Then he finds out he's passing the torch in his first appearance? I would be pissed off too.

@CorndogBurglar - The hopeful and naive part of me believes that the declining performance and can pushback has finally gotten to Disney and Marvel is course correcting. I really don’t think we will know for a few more years though. The stuff for the next year+ was already too far along before the recent shake up.

Yes absolutely nobody wants Blade’s daughter. That movie would fail so hard.

she would have been a great harley quinn for the reeves universe, but idk how keoghan's joker could score at all unless they radically change the design lol

@tmp3 - that's a great choice! I hope they radically change the design, even if Harley is never introduced, it's way too much.

She's definitely playing a vampire. Fingers crossed this movie is good. I'd really like to see some of the more horror Marvel characters on screen. I thought Werewolf by Night was great!

They could just use her real name. It already sounds like a Blade character.
