The first official teaser poster for Warner Bros. and DC Studios' upcoming Blue Beetle has been released, offering a cool first look at the titular blue beetle scarab, which will grant Jamie Reyes (Xolo Maridueña) his superpowered exoskeleton and amazing abilities.
While it's still a few months too early for any footage, Warner Bros. debuted the poster during a surprise panel for the upcoming Angel Manuel Soto-directed film, where stars Xolo Maridueña and Bruna Marquezine dropped in to gift every attendee an exclusive CCXP print of the poster.
Plot details remain under wraps, but the film has been one of DC's more eagerly awaited titles and with new DC Studios co-president Peter Safran onboard as a producer, there's a pretty good chance Jamie Reyes has a bright future in the revamped DC Universe.
In addition to Maridueña (Cobra Kai; Parenthood) in the title role, the supporting cast consists of Bruna Marquezine as Penny, Belissa Escobedo as Milagros Reyes, George Lopez as Rudy, Adriana Barraza as Nana, Elpidia Carrillo as Rocio, Damián Alcázar as Alberto, Raoul Trujillo as Carapax the Indestructible Man, Susan Sarandon as Victoria Kord, and Harvey Guillén in an undisclosed role.
Blue Beetle hits theaters on August 18.
