CAPTAIN AMERICA: BRAVE NEW WORLD Clip Features President Ross Introducing The World To Adamantium

In the latest leaked clip from Captain America: Brave New World, Harrison Ford's President Ross addresses the Celestial situation and namedrops Adamantium for the first time on Earth-616. Check it out...

Marvel Studios chose to only officially release a new trailer for Agatha All Along during this weekend's D23 event and, as you might expect, that's led to a lot of footage being leaked on social media.

We thought the days of convention-exclusive sneak peeks were behind us for this very reason, but there's bound to be a method to this apparent madness. Regardless, we now have a second clip from Captain America: Brave New World which puts the spotlight on Harrison Ford's President "Thunderbolt" Ross.

In the footage, he holds court at a Celestial Summit which sees him reveal that the world's powers quickly scrambled to acquire resources from Tiamut's remains in the Indian Ocean.

However, thanks to the new Captain America, Sam Wilson, it now appears to be in the hands of the U.S. Oh, and the previous metal's name? Adamantium, the indestructible material which, in the comic books, coats Wolverine's skeleton.

"Brave New World is a great title for this film," Anthony Mackie teased at Comic-Con last month. "It’s a new beginning, and it’s a foundation on which Marvel will build the universe on now. Not only this character but all the characters that surround him are new building blocks for us to utilize to move on through the universe and into to the future."

Ford, a surprising addition to the MCU, added, "I had seen other actors in the Marvel universe - well respected, really good actors - have a really good time. And I said, 'I want me some of that. And I got some.'"

The video below also features a clip we first shared yesterday (which has since been removed) with the Commander in Chief talking to Sam about reassembling The Avengers.

After meeting with newly elected U.S. President Thaddeus Ross, played by Harrison Ford in his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut, Sam finds himself in the middle of an international incident. He must discover the reason behind a nefarious global plot before the true mastermind has the entire world seeing red.

Captain America: Brave New World stars Anthony Mackie, Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, Xosha Roquemore, Carl Lumbly, with Giancarlo Esposito, Liv Tyler, Tim Blake Nelson, and Harrison Ford.

The movie is directed by Julius Onah and produced by Kevin Feige and Nate Moore. Louis D’Esposito and Charles Newirth serve as executive producers.

Captain America: Brave New World opens in U.S. theaters on February 14, 2025.

The introduction is so lackluster since Deadpool and Wolverine pretty much already introduced it into the MCU.
comicfan100
comicfan100 - 8/11/2024, 4:15 PM
@valmic - Did it though? Because Deadpool and Wolverine only have a few minutes within the Sacred Timeline and Wolverine never actually went there. So adamantium actually existing it the ST is a big deal.

@comicfan100 -

Was just getting ready to say this.

Just because it shows Adamantium between Wolverine and Deadpool's Katanas as the first FoX-Men (10035) film to be within the MCU, doesn't mean that its been introduced within 616. So this discovery within Brave New World is still significant.

micvalpro - 8/11/2024, 4:22 PM
@MahN166A - Not saying it isn’t significant, just that it already exists. So there’s no real excitement seeing it introduced here.

@valmic -

Maybe not for you.
So agree to disagree.

@valmic - @MahN166A -

The TVA has acsess to the entire multiverse. They probably got the adamntium katanas from well......anywhere. Hell how powerful the tva are, they could have straight up forged it themselves.

However let me ask you this.

Does anyone feel like wolverine and deadpool makes us feel we've been given short end of the stick. Like.....there are worlds f4, xmen, and avengers...ALL TOGETHOR

And we are stuck with the one with none of them togethor. Even prime avengers.

@valmic - That's like saying the Doctor Strange film was lackluster since he was namedropped in Winter Soldier first.

@valmic - 616 never had adamantium until now. This is a big deal dude.

@Thebronxknight - how is it different?

@valmic - existing in the TVA is not the same as existing in the 616 timeline. Stop trying to deprive everyone of any excitement and sit there in mommy’s basement with your thumb up ya a**

@JustBrootal - lol Why are you so angry? Also it's 2024, that "mommy's basement" shit has been played out for 20 years now. Get with the times.

Calling it now:

End credit scene will be whomever replaces Ross as President (since they obviously won’t keep him being a Hulk) saying that they have activated the Weapon Plus program and saying they have a list of candidates.

@kg8817 - i doubt that

JustBrootal - 8/11/2024, 10:59 PM
@kg8817 - I would be okay with this, but I believe that the story will turn into Ross failing in getting the “Avengers” he wants, and resorting to calling on Val to assemble the Thunderbolts

@kg8817 - so since Adamantium is just introduced that means there’s no WW2 era Logan then, right?

@JustBrootal - Good possibility. I like it.

@WruceBayne - WW2era Logan would have bone claws.
Apophis71
Apophis71 - 8/12/2024, 8:43 AM
@ObserverIO - Exactly Logan could have existed on the Sacred timeline for centuries staying off the radar enough to never appear in one of Fury's files let alone in a film if still only bone claws. All it would likely mean is the 616 variant won't get his Adamantium upgrade until post CA:BNW, although they could also be opting for the merged timelines way where all the main mutants have a differing pre-Secret Wars history (but the pre-SW 616 Avengers will retain knowledge of their original history even if some changes due to the merge).
WruceBayne
WruceBayne - 8/12/2024, 12:48 PM
@ObserverIO - what are the odds that we get a Logan floating in a Weapon X tank for the post credits scene?
ObserverIO
ObserverIO - 8/12/2024, 4:12 PM
@WruceBayne - If we have two Wolverines, Hugh and a Sacred Timeline Logan, they must fight.

Psyched to see Wilson Bethel back in DD: Born Again. He was an awesome Bullseye.

Last time we saw him he was about to get his spine reinforced with adamantium. So I suppose this can't be the only adamantium on the planet, but perhaps the preexisting deposits are mega rare.
HOTSHOT
HOTSHOT - 8/12/2024, 3:19 AM
@TheManWithoutFear - When did they say they were reinforcing it with Adamantium specifically?
HOTSHOT
HOTSHOT - 8/12/2024, 3:23 AM
@HOTSHOT - Like I get it's in the comics, but in the MCU, when was it stated?
Apophis71
Apophis71 - 8/12/2024, 8:49 AM
@TheManWithoutFear - If the thing was growing in the Earth prior to petrification then it could make sense Adamantium was rare but existed in the same way Cap's shield was supposed to be the only Vibranium until Black Panther. Finding a huge easy to access source for the core element in Tiamut (as it is a man made alloy normally) just makes it a lot more common to start being used more widely in the future.

Everything I've seen so far from this movie looks great. Might be a true return to form for the MCU.

Who exactly signed the sokovia accords? Cuz there was a different President during the Secret Invasion series, and I thought those were signed way back around Civil War?
Rmcbride7349
Rmcbride7349 - 8/11/2024, 4:31 PM
@MuadDib - Rhodey says in Civil War that 117 countries signed the Sokovian Accords. Then in She-Hulk, Matt Murdock says that the Accords have been repealed. Who the US President is doesn't matter if the Accords were a UN initiative.
MuadDib
MuadDib - 8/11/2024, 4:42 PM
@Rmcbride7349 - I’m asking bc Ross says something about shaving his mustache if he wanted to get elected, then “Cap” says you signed the accords, yet during the previously mentioned show we had a completely different President. I’m just trying to follow along.

So you’re saying General Ross signed them on behalf of the US in the UN only to have them repealed later on?
TheRogue
TheRogue - 8/11/2024, 7:07 PM
@MuadDib - I guess he signed them as a handler to organize it or something like that.
ObserverIO
ObserverIO - 8/12/2024, 5:46 AM
@MuadDib - It wasn't just world leaders signing them. Signatures would have been needed at every level. Even the Avengers all had to sign, as the ones giving up their freedom. If you remember, Cap refused to sign.
Apophis71
Apophis71 - 8/12/2024, 8:54 AM
@MuadDib - Ross was more the driving force behind the accords I believe as a high ranking military advisor, may even have been Secretary of Defence. There was a LOT of signatories however but it isn't normaly the PotUS who creates such things, advisors and/or Congress draft them for him to then sign and those who first draft will be the first signatories.

You mother [frick]ers better be setting stones for a reboot where Logan will be hundreds of years old and the mutants comic backstory is 100% accurate, we're talking nazis and prejudice and all that jazz. If this movie ends with someone saying Logan at a bar, I'll burning the theater down lol
MahN166A
MahN166A - 8/11/2024, 4:19 PM
@bobevanz -

Also hoping for this. Although I don't think it requires a reboot, but more so a recon, to basically establish Magneto's past with the Nazi's within the MCU, and some of the earlier moments of the X-Men within the 60's, also correlating with FF: First Steps.
MuadDib
MuadDib - 8/11/2024, 4:45 PM
@bobevanz - I feel like after Secret Wars, the entire timeline will be different, which is the only way to properly address the history of mutants. Maybe it’s a merging of 2 different timelines, idk, but I agree that we can just have ppl mutating moving forward without having had mutants around for a while already.
