CAPTAIN AMERICA: BRAVE NEW WORLD's Disney+ Premiere Date Has Been Revealed

While you can already watch Captain America: Brave New World at home on Digital and Blu-ray, Marvel Studios has today announced when the movie will begin streaming on Disney+. Read on for details...

Captain America: Brave New World received a mixed response from fans and critics when it opened in theaters back in February. Extensive reshoots changed everything from The Leader's appearance to which characters were involved in the final battle, and the end result...well, it was what it was.

Still, there was plenty to love about the new Captain America's first movie, including that epic Red Hulk battle in Washington D.C. You'll get to watch that from the comfort of home, without paying for a Digital or Blu-ray copy, when Captain America: Brave New World hits Disney+ on May 28.

In the movie, Sam Wilson takes up the shield for a thrilling new chapter that thrusts him into a global conspiracy - and a high-stakes showdown with the fearsome Red Hulk!

After captivating audiences worldwide in theaters and becoming the #2 highest-grossing film of 2025 domestically, Captain America will next be seen in Avengers: Doomsday, when Anthony Mackie reprises the role. He'll lead of a team of Avengers who will seemingly butt heads with The New Avengers.

It's hard to say whether there will be another Captain America movie featuring Sam Wilson. However, a new Steve Rogers may be introduced post-Avengers: Secret Wars, particularly if it's true that there are plans for a soft reboot of the MCU.

Check out a new Captain America: Brave New World promo and poster below.

In Captain America: Brave New World, after meeting with newly elected U.S. President Thaddeus Ross, played by Harrison Ford in his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut, Sam Wilson finds himself in the middle of an international incident. He must discover the reason behind a nefarious global plot before the true mastermind has the entire world seeing red.

The movie stars Anthony Mackie, Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, Xosha Roquemore, Carl Lumbly, with Giancarlo Esposito, Liv Tyler, Tim Blake Nelson, and Harrison Ford. The movie is directed by Julius Onah and produced by Kevin Feige and Nate Moore. Louis D’Esposito and Charles Newirth serve as executive producers.

"Flawed but functional, Captain America: Brave New World's many problems are largely forgotten any time Anthony Mackie and Harrison Ford electrify the screen," we said in our review"And when Red Hulk shows up, the movie reaches new heights of awesome."

Captain America: Brave New World arrives on Disney+ on May 28.

There were literally no surprises in this film

@0bstreperous - I was surprised with how bad it was. Not even the red Hulk action was rewatch worthy.

@0bstreperous - Leader's look was surprising. It wouldn't have saved the movie but yikes wtf

I have rewatched this on digital and tbh , I still think it’s an enjoyable film.

Personally , I thought the cast was good and did well with the material they had with Mackie & Ford leading strongly from the front.

The story I felt was engaging if not derivative at times of Winter Soldier & Civil War (though all three of those films take cues from the political/conspiracy thriller genre which has its tropes which this followed aswell).

I felt there was some nice character moments but I do wish there was a bit more meat on the bones so to speak but I guess the movies fast pace prevented that.

The CG was wonky at times and the action scenes while fun for the most part could still have been better at times , the humor was hit or miss aswell for me.

Overall, I give it a grade of “B-/B”.

@ClintthaManster - cool

I hope you enjoy it more then you did in theaters.

I do hope if we get another Sam Cap film then it is stronger then this because both Mackie and the character deserve it imo

@TheVisionary25 — I agree with all your points. I've seen it a few times, and it is enjoyable, but not the greatest, and that's okay. C+ for me.

Just saw this a few days ago just for shits&giggles, and I'd say its a 6.5/10, it wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. Not many memorable moments if at all. There didn't seem to be any climax-defining moment, which I'd expect out of a film. The second and third act seemed to just blend together and before you knew it, the movie was over. Sam is alright as Cap, but there is just something more that's missing from the character. My inclination is to say its just overall charisma.

Didn't love it, but didn't hate it. Mackie and Ford were good in it, and the action was decent. I at least thought it was better than Black Widow, most of the Thor movies, and Multiverse of Madness.

I saw the movie with the Latin American dub in theaters so I'm definitely gonna give it a rewatch once it's streaming. I did like it the first time despite the polarizing reviews it go. Maybe now I'll realize some of the things that worked against it that I couldn't before, but I doubt I'll change my mind too much.

Red Hulk still stole the show by the end, the destruction of the final fight was epic.
