CAPTAIN AMERICA: NEW WORLD ORDER - Mark Ruffalo Rumored To Be In Talks To Return As The Hulk

It's looking like Captain America: New World Order will be every bit a Hulk movie as a Captain America one, as a new rumour suggests that Mark Ruffalo is in talks to reprise his role as Bruce Banner...

Captain America: New World Order is shaping up to be a much different movie than we initially expected, with The Leader set to take aim at Sam Wilson. This will mark Tim Blake Nelson's first appearance as the villain since 2008's The Incredible Hulk, and the expectation is that he will have become the mastermind we all know from the comic books.

Of course, The Leader is primarily a Hulk villain, prompting fans to wonder what he'll bring to the table here. The prevailing theory online is that he's pulling the strings of the Intelligencia in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, and likely behind the Power Broker's Super Soldier Serum used by U.S. Agent in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier

There have already been reports that She-Hulk will appear in Captain America: New World Order along with several other Hulked-out characters. Now, Screen Geek is claiming that Mark Ruffalo is in talks to return as Bruce Banner in the movie.

While this is just a rumour, it's said that negotiations are ongoing for the Avengers: Endgame star to reprise his role as The Hulk. It would make sense, though, and gives Sam Wilson's Captain America a couple of big-name Avengers to accompany him into battle as he matches wits with The Leader.

This story could also be an important next step in the apparent build to a World War Hulk project that is likely to see The Hulk, She-Hulk, and potentially even Skaar, battling a whole host of Hulk baddies. That still hasn't been confirmed but does seem to be the way Marvel Studios is heading.

Captain America: New World Order stars Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Captain America, Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres/The Falcon, Shira Haas as Sabra, Carl Lumbly as Isaiah Bradley, Tim Blake Nelson as The Leader.

The movie is set to be released in theaters on May 3, 2024.

Starting to think this should've just been Hulk 2 with Sam's Cap as the co-star. Because that's what this is starting to feel like, lol.

@KWilly - that's what mcu does... satisfy arcs of characters in their universe in other characters films. It sometimes hurts the actors (Benedict cumberbatch servicing Olson's arc in strange2). But it keeps the universe growing and storyline moving forward organically

@KWilly - Exactly, She-Hulk, The Leader and maybe The Hulk.

This is the perfect movie and perfect villain to have Hulk regress from Professor Hulk back to the raging Incredible Hulk.

Have Sam track down the Leader, who’s still experimenting with the super soldier serum angle that Norton’s Hulk established in his movie, creating Glob - have Banner get kidnapped and experimented on - causing Banner to near enough die in the process, forcing the Hulk to reawaken and take control saving Banner and going full blown rage mode giving the character much needed redemption.

@Se4M4NSt4ine - They should bring back Norton as the Maestro or another Hulk villan.

They are going to need as many other popular characters in this as possible in order to sell it after TFATWS flopped.

@Drace24 - The Disney MCU shows are basically getting CW Arrowverse numbers. Only a couple to a few million are watching these things.

@WarMonkey - Let's see...

-Most-watched Disney+ Series Premiere at the time
-Most streamed show in April
-Is currently second only to Loki in streaming numbers for the Marvel Disney+ shows

Still looking for the numbers that show it's a "failure"...

@SerKurtWagner - Here you go, wasn't hard to find it was the first thing google came back with searching for "Disney MCU viewership numbers"...

@Spike101 - TFATWS did not flop
Drace24
Drace24 - 9/28/2022, 9:24 AM
@WarMonkey - First of all, it is not the job of other people find sources to your arguments.
Second: For a streaming service in its infancy those numbers are pretty good. Quote from your own source:

"Walt Disney’s acquisition of Marvel Entertainment not only cemented its position as the most powerful media conglomerate in Hollywood, but also helped pave the way for the company’s success in the streaming realm. By having exclusive streaming rights to the MCU, the highest-grossing movie franchise worldwide, Disney+ can set itself apart from other established competitors such as Netflix. And while many viewers use the service for Disney’s original programming, a large share of surveyed viewers also stated that they subscribed to the service predominantly or exclusively because of its Marvel content."

@Drace24 - You asked a question so I answered it, then I called out someone for making something up and then attacking others based on it and backed it up when asked.

This is Disney, only a tiny fraction of it's total subscribers are watching their new shows so that has been concerning for the investors along with the stall in their sub count going up.
SerKurtWagner
SerKurtWagner - 9/28/2022, 10:23 PM
@WarMonkey - It's tied with Moon Knight for the second most successful Disney+ Marvel show. How exactly does that help your argument?
Drace24
Drace24 - 9/29/2022, 7:34 AM
@WarMonkey - No, buddy. YOU made something up, has been asked for a source, complained about that and gave us data that does not at all corroborate your argument and now you are getting pissy over getting called out for it.

And then you just repeat your argument that has just gone up in flames. Did you bet a larger sum against yourself here?
