This Fan-Favourite Character Was Cut From CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR's After-Credits Scene

Captain America: Civil War is a movie with a lot of characters, and following the recent reveal that The Wasp was cut from the script early on, we now know which hero was removed from a post-credits stinger.

Rumours about The Hulk showing up in Captain America: Civil War have persisted for years now, but after his fate was left up in the air (literally) in Avengers: Age of Ultron, it seems like we're going to have to wait until Thor: Ragnarok to find out what's next for the Jade Giant. Talking to The Huffington Post, co-writer Christopher Markus addressed the rumour by stating: "We can clean that up real quickly. Mark Ruffalo shot no scenes. We talked about having Bruce Banner at the very end of the film, and it just, again, seemed like we’re sticking people in just to stick them in. He has clearly gone somewhere at the end of Ultron, and that’s a story. Don’t blow it off and put it in a little tiny chunk just to put in a little extra filigree on our movie. That’s a story."

"There was a draft with a stinger of him in it," co-writer Stephen McFeely added, possibly confirming that those rumours had at least some basis in the truth once upon a time. "But that was long ago, and reports of him actually filming stuff — the unit publicist on the movies [John M. Pisani] looks a lot like Ruffalo, so when people say, ‘Hey, he’s in Berlin dancing with Anthony Mackie,’ it’s John Pisani. It’s not Ruffalo." It's interesting to wonder what that scene could have involved, but we'll likely never find out now that Marvel has decided to hold off on revealing his fate until that cosmic team-up with the God of Thunder.

Going back to The Wasp, McFeely. continued: "We certainly had a draft where both Ant-Man and Wasp were recruited, but when they come in, that’s a lot of story there, and you can’t just let Paul Rudd do what we need him to do in that section, which is look at it from wide open innocent eyes and appreciate the Avengers from the outside, which gets you comic relief beat after beat after beat. Spider-Man’s similar, right? Because these people have an investment, and these two new people don’t. It’s not that Wasp wouldn’t also have that opinion maybe, but we have not seen her be a hero at all, so that’s an example of where we think we’d be drinking someone’s milkshake. Let’s let the Ant-Man franchise show her come to her full fruition as opposed to just doing it offscreen." Do you think Captain America: Civil War would have been better off with her and The Hulk showing up?

Glad to know the Russos can show that sort of restraint. I feel like a lot of fans want characters in the films just for the sake of having them in the film. The appearance of someone like Hulk or Wasp should hold some weight.

Good, no need to shoehorn anything else for future movies

When you find out The Russos are good friends with the the John Wick directors and they helped with a few action sequences in Civil War, and you're just itching for more collaboration between the duos.
