Captain America: The First Avenger will focus on the early days of the Marvel Universe when Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) volunteers to participate in an experimental program that turns him into the Super Soldier known as Captain America. As Captain America, Rogers joins forces with Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) and Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) to wage war on the evil HYDRA organization, led by the villainous Red Skull (Hugo Weaving.)




With an all star cast which includes Chris Evans as Captain America, Sebastian Stan as Bucky, Hugo Weaving as Red Skull, Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter, Tommy Lee Jones as Col. Chester Phillips, Stanley Tucci as Dr. Abraham Erskine and Dominic Cooper as Howard Stark, Captain America: The First Avenger is set to be released on July 22, later this year!

I wonder if the HYDRA Soldiers are going to have personalities or if they'll be the run-of-the-mill generic henchmen like they had on "The Rise of Cobra".

I have a feeling this movie will be disappointing. Thor has wowed us. First Class looks waaaay better than many thought. I enjoy the new direction of The Amazing Spider-Man. GL is 50/50 IMO. But cap? I dunno, just not confident. A lot has to do with those stupid shoulder pads, it makes him look like he's wearing a blazer. I don't mind the rest of the design or choice of colours. Just those stupid shoulder pads.

that does not seem like evans to me. seems more like the stand in. i had the same feeling when you look at the action screen in the warhouse. i hope this is fixed in the movie or that i am worng about this

Joe Johnston has had some bad luck with previous
Films:
The Rocketeer, when Disney would not let
him or Dave Stevens make the film they wanted
to make, but it still came out better than imagined.
Then the Wolfman, where the pre & post production
nightmare's never stopped.
But, I believe with Cap, he's going to
knock it out of the park!
It may not be Raiders of the Lost Ark, which he did the visual
Effects for, but I think it will come close!
I believe in Marvel! 'nuff said'!

@theAntagonist, you make a good point with the mindless henchmen thing. That could go a long way in determining the quality of this movie. Watching Cap beat the shit out of drones is not nearly as satisfying as watching him beat the shit out of cutthroat, bloodthirsty soldiers. That'll be important.

I'm not crazy about this pic actually. It has a very "Bond villain" vibe to it. You can imagine Red Skull prancing back and forth..

"Now Mr America, instead of killing you straight away I'm going to explain my intricate and fiendish plan to you so you can stop me in a few minutes after you escape"

Evans also has a bit of a silly look on his Chevy Chase.
