Marvel's Captain Marvel has officially commenced principal photography. 

While we've already seen a handful of set photos from downtown Atlanta with Academy Award-winner Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, in her green Kree flight suit, the official production start date for the film was actually yesterday, which seemingly suggests that what we saw before may have been a post-credits scene for next month's Avengers: Infinity War.

Larson and her stuntdouble were both spotted on-set in Los Angeles - where the entire production is expected to take place - on Monday afternoon in their emerald flight suits, looking more than ready to get to work on the penultimate Phase 3 installment. An eagle-eyed fan was able to capture the moment and has shared the following video, check it out below:

Captain Marvel is a 2019 superhero film based on the Marvel Comics superheroine Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel. It is the twenty-first movie installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as well as the ninth installment of Phase Three.

@Saga - I don't think its actually a mohawk. it was shorter hair on the sides but her helmet had an opening slit on top that let her hair out. the effect was essentially a mohawk. but I'm with you, if they are going this suit and not the sexy black original, i prefer the shorter hair

I'm not opposed to some of the more radical hairstyles from the comics once she settles into the modern era. As long as it's not something that is chasing a fad that will look ridiculous in a few years (I'm looking at you, Rosario-Dawson's-Side-Buzzcut-from-Daredevil-Season-One), and as long as it suits Larson's face. Some women don't suit a pixie cut.

I did a treatment for an animated Deadpool short a few years ago (way before the Reynolds movie started production) and Bonnie Tyler played such a big part of it for exactly this reason. So frenetic, earnest, and ever-so-slightly subversive. This and Total Eclipse of the Heart were central to the tone shifts.
