Ahead of tonight's new Captain Marvel trailer, Funko has released official images of its first wave of tie-in POP! figures, and they feature several different variants of Carol Danvers, Nick Fury, & more.

Official images of Funko's first wave of Captain Marvel Funko POP! figures have been released, and they confirm that Carol Danvers' pet cat , who is actually a member of the alien Flerken race in the comics, will appear in the movie - although he won't be called Chewie!

For whatever reason (it's possible they were trying to avoid referencing the Star Wars character, even though Disney also owns that property), Carol's feline friend will be known as Goose, which is believed to be a nod to Tom Cruise's doomed partner in Top Gun.

The line also includes a young Nick Fury, Maria Rambeau, Talos, "Star Commander," (who is actually the villainous Yon-Rogg) and several different versions of Captain Marvel herself. Plus, it's been revealed that the space-faring hero will go by "Vers" before she discoverers her true name.





Set in 1995, Captain Marvel follows Carol Danvers, a former U.S. Air Force fighter pilot, as she turns into one of the galaxy's mightiest heroes and joins Starforce, an elite Kree military team, before returning home with new questions about her past and identity when the Earth is caught in the center of an intergalactic conflict between two alien worlds.

Captain Marvel flies into theaters on March 8, 2019.

I'm def getting that Target exclusive one!

Not a fan of the Chewie to Goose name change, but I get why they did it.

And he's not a cat, he's an alien called a Flerken.

I assume that there will be a different “Goose” for the exclusive and they’re trying not to ruin the surprise of what he really is by showing the same figure twice.
