Emily Blunt Seems Interested In Playing CAPTAIN MARVEL
Ever since Blunt was said to be in the running to play Black Widow in The Avengers, fans have wanted to see her don a costume in a superhero movie. Now that a Captain Marvel flick is officially in the works, could they get their wish? More past the jump.
While chatting to Emily Blunt about her role in Into The Woods, Screen Crush mentioned the strong fan contingent that are behind her playing Carol Danvers in Marvel's planned Captain Marvel movie. Though the Edge Of Tomorrow actress admits there's been no official discussions, she reveals that she has heard about the internet buzz...from her brother that very morning! After joking about making the film a musical ("Let’s just call Marvel about that right now. We’ll call Kevin Feige about that. “Kevin Feige, we have one hell of an idea.” Yeah"), Mike Ryan explains a little about the character, and Blunt sounds genuinely interested.
"I think, it’s always for me, it’s always about—and now, more so—what am I putting out there? What would be interesting for me and what would be interesting for people to see. So, if it’s an awesome part, it doesn’t matter if it’s a Marvel movie or a tiny movie, I’d be up for it."
As most of you will be aware already, Blunt was at one point up for the role of Black Widow in The Avengers, which of course went to Scarlett Johansson in the end. Since that though, fans have been very vocal in their support of her playing another superhero, and when the Captain Marvel movie was announced the fan-castings went into overdrive. Now that she knows a bit about the character and seems interested, is there a chance we could see her suit up as Miss Danvers? Let us know what you think in the usual place.
