More From Emily Blunt On Speculation That She Will Play CAPTAIN MARVEL

Emily Blunt (Edge of Tomorrow) is a fan-favourite choice to play Captain Marvel for Marvel Studios, and somewhere along the line, that fan support became a "rumour". What does the Into The Woods star think of this buzz? Hit the jump to find out...

"It’s funny ‘cause I’m hearing this Captain Marvel thing from a lot of people," Emily Blunt told Collider in a recent interview when asked about the buzz surrounding her and that Marvel Studios role. "I have no official offer, whatsoever. No one’s called. I don’t know where the hell it’s come from, in all honesty. For me, I just think that the part has gotta be awesome. I just want to play great parts, and it’s sometimes hard to find within those big superhero movies. The female parts are not usually great, but recently, they’ve been better. I don’t know. It has to be the right thing."

You have to imagine that Marvel have taken note of this support and the fact that Blunt showed off her action movie chops to great effect earlier this year in Edge of Tomorrow. Of course, it's still early, so it's possible they haven't even begun to think about casting Captain Marvel as of yet (then again, there are those rumours about her making a cameo appearance in Avengers: Age of Ultron...).

Would you guys like to see the Into the Woods star play Carol Danvers?

This is all hype in the run up to her film "Into the Woods". She's not going to get picked.

Emily Blunt could play a whole host of Marvel characters and I wouldn't mind. I think she'd make a great Capt Marvel, I'd also like to see her as Medusa in Inhumans.

I think she'd be a fine choice. Plus Marvel already had her on their radar since she was supposed to be Black Widow. I'd definitely be down with her as Captain Marvel though.

I'd be 100% behind that. The only problem would be that Momoa will make whoever they cast as Mera look smaller than Peter Dinklage.

I'd rather have Natalie Dormer. I just want to see her in more movies. She's immensely talented, and [frick]ing gorgeous.

That's my Ms. Marvel.

It'd be great to see her in the role. She killed it in Edge of Tomorrow, the most underrated movie of this year.

@Reasonnnn

Yeah he is. While filming Five Year Engagement, Jason Segel, Alison Brie, Emily Blunt and John Krasinski did karaoke. I bet they were a blast to hang out with. Surprised Chris Pratt and Anna Faris did not join them.

@mercwithmouth

The only problem/issue with cast Natalie Dormer as Captain Marvel is they'd have to explain why Carol Danvers was posing as Private Lorraine:
