With tickets now on sale across the globe, Marvel Studios has released six new character posters from The Marvels, spotlighting Carol Danvers (Brie Larson), Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris), Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani), Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), Prince Yan (Seo-Jun Park) and Goose!

They've also shared a new promo for Game 3 of the WNBA Finals between the Las Vegas Aces and the New York Liberty, so it could be a matter of hours before we get some new footage, possibly even the film's final trailer, although it may be a tad early for that, so it's probably more likely that we'll be getting another extended sneak preview.

Due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, it seems unlikely that there will be any sort of global press tour for what is likely the final MCU release of the year, unless, of course, matters get resolved relatively quickly. Fans should also probably temper their expectations on a live red carpet world premiere as well, although considering the very fluid situation, anything is subject to change in the coming days/weeks.

The cast features Academy Award-winner Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris, Iman Vellani, Zawe Ashton, Gary Lewis, Seo-Jun Park, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Saagar Shaikh, and Academy Award-nominee Samuel L. Jackson.

Check out the new character posters below:

In Marvel Studios’ “The Marvels,” Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe. When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must team up and learn to work in concert to save the universe as “The Marvels.”

The film stars Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris, Iman Vellani, Zawe Ashton, Gary Lewis, Seo-Jun Park, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Saagar Shaikh, and Samuel L. Jackson. Nia DaCosta directs, and Kevin Feige is the producer. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Mary Livanos and Matthew Jenkins serve as executive producers. The screenplay is by Nia DaCosta and Megan McDonnell and Elissa Karasik.

Fury's head and arm looks real disproportionate from his body. Who edited that? Lol

@KWilly - Maybe it could look better like with every photoshopped poster but you're also blowing it out of proportions.

It's a shame they won't get a press tour for this one. There's a big financial component to marketing big movies for everyone's awareness, both the on social media but also globally. I hadn't realized that until after I noticed how little promo movies were getting on social media over the summer. It's night and day compared to Barbies release

On the positive side, I love how much practical action they seem to be putting in this, even in scenes where vfx are mixed in. Feels so much better than what was in Quantumania.

@OmegaDaGrodd - You hit the jackspot on how really important marketing is and the role it plays in building up anticipation and hype so that the box office meets most of the desired results. This SAG-AFTRA strike has made that very clear from not just Blue Beetle but to all other non-CBM films that have come out post July.

And yeah the action here looks solid.

A Marvel Studios movie about 3 Female heroes 2 of whom NO ONE who didn't watch D+ have heard of PLUS CM who has the personality of a piece of furniture VS a female Villan. I can see now that theaters will have to hire security to keep back General Audiences. Who thought this was a GREAT IDEA?

Coming in NOVEMBER, yet another Female led action movie that will BOMB and the Masses will blame the ol reliable Toxic Males who are Anti Feminist INSTEAD of blaming Marvel Studios for putting out MORE shitty content

My issue with this movie is purely from the standpoint that we're not getting a CAPTAIN MARVEL movie. We're getting a buddy movie with characters that could have shown in Avengers or another show and let Captain Marvel be Captain Marvel. Just her and Nick, or for fun, her and the guardians or someone from the guardians like Nebula and Groot.

Or, If Secret Invasion could have been blended in and make the film wider, with more action and narrative with Carol dealing with space and Nick with earth and colliding.

@SonofaWonka - Legit, three characters I'm sure no one is really connected to like that. Carol and some of the girl Guardians, I'd watch that!! Have her lead and need their insights and help. Maybe Mantis and Nebula with a special appearance from Groot. Or just her and Nick thrusted into a situation that blends the grounded SHIELD stuff that we loved from Nick and the space stuff that's still being understood from Carol.

@SonofaWonka - The same thing could've been said about Civil War but no one found an issue with that.

@NinnesMBC - that was Cap’s THIRD film. And my point is that CM isn’t really solid yet. She was only really HER in the final parts of the film. Cap, in his film, was full Cap form most of the film. Her whole film was her getting her memory back and then accepting her full power at the end. After that, we see her in snippets of other films.

Just feel she needs her own whole solo outing. I feel the same about Tom’s Spiderman. I still think the best solo films are Iron Man, Dr Strange, and Black Panther, and Captain America. We get fully who they are and what their capable off in full.

It's pretty cool how Brie looks like she's going super saiyan.

Captain Marvel definitely won't be one of Loki's Multiverse Avengers. I'm going with Wolverine (Jackman), Spider-Man (Maguire), Iron Man (Downey), Hulk (Bana), Doctor Strange (Cumberbatch), America Chavez, and Deadpool.

This film will probably do well overseas and OK in the US if it is at least decent. I think they should have tried to build on Kamala Khan's status as a mutant. Marvel are probably in the process of developing an overarching story about mutants. That is what will save this franchise.

SonOfAGif - 10/15/2023, 2:44 PM
@Forthas - We won't see an MCU X-Men until after Secret Wars and I believe that Marvel is intending on merging all the universes through the Temporal Loom introduced in Loki S2. We will see a complete reset of the MCU with new actors, new characters, and problems from other universes brought in such as mutants and Sentinels. And in this new universe Dr. Doom will be the next saga.

Right from the very first teaser which had the ‘funny’ scene with one of them bouncing against the spaceship glass with Fury looking on inside I knew this was going to tank.

Attaching your marketing to the incredibly unpopular WMBA probably isn’t a smart move.
