The Marvels' (potentially) game-changing mid-credits scene has understandably been given a lot of coverage, but it has somewhat taken attention away from the movie's other big cameo, and a first look at the character in question has now leaked online.

If you haven't seen the film yet, major spoilers follow.

When the three heroes manage to defeat Dar-Benn and save the day, Monica is left trapped in an alternate universe (where she encounters the X-Men's Beast and a Variant of her mother Maria/Binary), while Carol uses her powers to recharge the Kree homeworld, and Kamala seemingly sets her sights on forming her own squad of heroes.

In an epilogue right before the credits, we see Kate Bishop, aka the new Hawkeye (Hailee Steinfeld), walk through her door to find Ms. Marvel waiting in the shadows. Kamala has used Nick Fury's hi-tech iPad to track down potential recruits, and asks Kate if she thought she was "the only teenage superhero" around. Clint Barton's protégé reminds Khan that she's 23-years-old, but the tenacious youngster is undeterred.

Khan then says she's putting a team together, and wants Kate on it. She also asks, "did you know Ant-Man has a daughter?"

This would obviously seem to confirm that the Young Avengers will assemble in the MCU at some point (though they may go by another name). In addition to Khan and Bishop, the line-up is rumored to include America Chavez, Billy Kaplan/Wiccan, Cassie Lang/Stature, and Riri Williams/Ironheart, but this is far from being confirmed.

"The Marvels is far from the best Marvel Studios has to offer, but it's difficult not to get swept up in its infectious energy... to a point," we said in our review. "A disjointed third act lets it down, but a game cast and plenty of fun/funny moments elevate it above more lacklustre MCU fare (we're looking at you, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumnia)."

"In Marvel Studios’ The Marvels, Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe. When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must team up and learn to work in concert to save the universe as The Marvels.”

The film also stars Zawe Ashton and Park Seo-joon. Nia DaCosta directs, and Kevin Feige is the producer. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Mary Livanos and Matthew Jenkins serve as executive producers. The screenplay is by Megan McDonnell, Nia DaCosta, Elissa Karasik and Zeb Wells.

The Marvels will begin its international rollout on November 8, and was recently granted a China release on November 10, day-and-date with North America.
