THE MARVELS: New LEGO Set Reveals First Look At Carol Danvers' "Hoopty" Spaceship

A newly released LEGO set for The Marvels offers our best look yet at Captain Marvel's "Hoopty" spaceship, and you can find out what, if anything, it reveals about the Marvel Studios sequel right here...

The Marvels will release only a single LEGO set, but it's one we're sure many of you will want to get your hands on later this year.

Minifigures based on Captain Marvel, Photon, and Ms. Marvel are included, along with a spaceship we now know is called the "Hoopty." It's unclear what that's a reference to (there's nothing in the comic books which shares the name as far as we're aware), but we caught a glimpse of the interior in the sequel's first trailer.

With that in mind, we know Carol Danvers, Monica Rambeau, and Kamala Khan will use the "Hoopty" to travel through the cosmos, and we expect it to be key in Captain Marvel's story.

A new trailer for The Marvels is thought to be imminent, though we're still not sure when exactly it's scheduled to drop. The San Diego Comic-Con kicks off tomorrow and white Marvel Studios isn't hosting a Hall H panel, they could still steal the show with an online debut.

Take a closer look at The Marvel's "Hoopty" below.

In The Marvels, Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe.

When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must team up and learn to work in concert to save the universe as "The Marvels."

The movie stars Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris, Iman Vellani, Samuel L. Jackson, Zawe Ashton and Park Seo-joon.

The Marvels arrives in theaters on November 10.

@GhostDog - would a door fail at its major hinge joint? more likely just the handle would have come off.

@TheManWithoutFear - All im saying is in an MCU when we have seen 10 men topless. we have seen no women. Brie is more than qualified. what about all the quality people? before anyone gets at me... have you seen the recent trend of women MMA/boxers, flashing after a victory or at a weigh in.. they fight for a living but want to free #demboobs.

I am shocked that the thread hasn't already blown up with screams of racism regarding the word Hoopty.(Hooptie)

This vehicle in the movie & the toy being called this are going to blow up in Disney's face BIG TIME.

@DocSpock - I’m not current on the teenager Gen Z slang these days. Back in my day, nobody outside the hood would use that term. But kids these days may have learned it somewhere and use it. Or it was some writer trying to be clever. Technically a lot of young people have cheap beat up cars that meet the definition and it’s possible her spaceship could fall within that criteria too.

@iceballsreborn -

they don't have inner city ghetto sh!twagon 30+ years old barely running cars in England?

@DocSpock - Or if Monica is the one that calls the ship that then it would be more appropriate based on her age and race.

@DocSpock - i dont see that many cars from 90s. my cars from 2005 and its pretty much the oldest car 90% of the time when im driving around. seems generally yankees tend to keep cars for longer. but point i still dont get what hoopty means.

Of course, but a white person ever saying that in the ghetto in the major city where I have always lived would just about have gotten you killed.

@DocSpock - Agreed. I grew up a few miles from Compton. I knew and was friends with many from the hood. At that time, I would have never dreamed of co-opting their language. It would have gotten me at minimum beaten up.

Come on man. You never seen The Fresh Prince of Belaire? or any other 90s show? The Sir Mix a Lot song? It's 90s slang for beat up old car. "That dude over there driving a hooptie"
