South Korean actor Park Seo-joon has reportedly joined the cast of The Marvels in an undisclosed role. StarNews Korea broke the story, but the news has since been picked up by several larger outlets. The trades have yet to confirm, however.
The 32-year-old actor/recording artist is a prolific star in South Korea, rising to fame after appearances in TV shows such as Kill Me, Heal Me, She Was Pretty, Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth, and Fight for My Way. He also has a small role in recent Academy Award-winner, Parasite. Seo-joon is said to be "scheduled to leave for the United States in the second half of this year" to begin working on the Marvel Studios project.
A recent Phase 4 preview revealed that the sequel is officially titled The Marvels. Plot details are still under wraps (you can check out a vague logline here), but we do know that Ms. Marvel star Iman Vellani will make her big-screen debut as Kamala Khan, and WandaVision's Teyonah Parris will reprise the role of Monica Rambeau. British actress Zawe Ashton (Fresh Meat, Velvet Buzzsaw) is also on board as the main villain.
Candyman reboot helmer Nia DaCosta will direct from a script by WandaVision writer Megan McDonnell. The Marvels is set to fly into theaters on November 11, 2022.
