CAPTAIN MARVEL Concept Art Sees Carol Danvers Pitted Against An Entire Army Of Kree Sentries

A new batch of Captain Marvel concept art reveals some deleted scenes from the movie as Carol Danvers goes to war with an entire army of Kree Sentries! This would have been an epic sight on the big screen.

Captain Marvel is an action-packed, awesome movie, but there are some elements from the comic books that fans may be disappointed to see haven't made it to the big screen.

For starters, there's no sign of the Kree Sentry. In the comic books, they are the ultimate weapons of the Kree Army and are portrayed as gigantic super-powered androids designed only for destruction. Interestingly, the Captain Marvel line of action figures
feature one as a "Build-A-Figure" so it's possible they were going to appear in the movie at one point.

Now, some concept art has been revealed which shows Carol Danvers battling an entire army of them both on Earth and in outer space. This would have been epic to see, and is something Marvel Studios clearly considered making a reality given how many pieces they're featured in.

Pretty cool. I think I prefer the shorter hair. Hope she gets that cut in the sequel.

Wow, pretty neat. I'm assuming they are saving this for the sequel.

I watched the movie. I give an 8 out of 10. But that's my grade for all Marvel movies, except Winter Soldier and Infinity War. Those two movies are 10 out o 10.

I expect to see the Kree Sentries in the sequel.

And I would love to see a "cameo" from Silver Surfer or Quasar.

I liked Sentry 459 in Avengers: EMH. Would've been cool to see, but maybe in a sequel.

Just watched it last night here's some of my thoughts

SPOILERS

I enjoyed the movie over all, but it did feel paint by numbers in a lot of spots. There was some great opportunitys to get really weird and comicbookie, but instead they played it safe. In the sequel I would really like to see them go full cosmic and lean more into the weirdness.

I would really like to see more focus on the Kree-Skrull war becouse that was the most interesting part of the film. I really enjoyed Carol as a character, I do wish more time was spent on her past and not glossed over but it's still a good start. Talos was great and just might be one of my favorite "villains" in the MCU so I would like to see more of him and his family.

The only thing I really hated was the way Fury lost his eye. It made him look like a really dumb character in the moment. Fury is supposed to be a cold, manipulative spy and he now he just looks like a dork for losing his eye to a "cat". They should have had him lose it in the car crash with Skrull Coulson as that would have made much more sense.

I would give Captian Marvel a sold 7.5 out of 10.

@CurlyBill - Kree-Skrull War is likely to be the focus of the sequel. And yeah, Talos was excellent, excited to see more of him.

@HeavyMetal4Life - Felt like they were setting up his daughter to play a part in the future, I don't know if she is from the comic our not ?

@CurlyBill - Yeah, they purposely focused on her. And her name is probably Veranke... ;-)

@HeavyMetal4Life - that's one theory. Probably my favorite theory.

@HeavyMetal4Life -
"Kree-Skrull War is likely to be the focus of the sequel"

Doubt it. In the MCU timeline, the Kree-Skrull war ended prior to Guardians Of The Galaxy. Ronin even states as such in his opening speech "A thousand years of war between us will not be forgotten" referring to the Kree-Skrull war that the Xandarians/Nova Corp ended with a peace treaty that the Kree government agreed to. He explains people view him as a terrorist for trying to continue the war.

That's before we even attempt to discuss the changes made to the dynamic which will vastly alter any attempt to make a Secret Invasion storyline in future.

@Scarilian - So you didn't read what Feige said. Gotcha

@HeavyMetal4Life -
So you read and completely misunderstood what Feige said. Gotcha :P

Feige discusses adapting the stories as the mythology for Captain Marvel - which can still occur with the main war over. How you ask? With terrorists groups and tribes on either side (Ronin is an example) trying to reignite the war or attack/destroy those who attempted to end it.

Secret Invasion is already being set-up and is likely going to wind up being a group of terrorist Skrulls infiltrating positions of power to start the conflict with the Kree again or punish Earth/Carol for interfering with the war.

@WakandaTech - sequel to Captain Marvel, pre Endgame

I think one thing Marvel are probably immediately regretting about this movie given how much it's making is not upping the budget a bit more so they could make the third act a bit crazier. Second viewing really makes it coalesce much better because I could track the overall dramatic throughline, but I would've been happy seeing something like this on Earth just before she takes on The Accuser's ship

Still a fun end, but easily could've had a bit more punch

HeavyMetal4Life - 3/9/2019, 3:15 PM
@OmegaDaGrodd - yeah I think the film needed, at a minimum, an extra 10 minutes.
TanukiTrooper
TanukiTrooper - 3/9/2019, 6:34 PM
@OmegaDaGrodd - I think the major problem of setting big battle in an Earth city was continuity. The Chitauri invasion on New York seemed like the public's first big encounter with alien life in the MCU. Where in CM the contact was pretty much limited to the people in that train carriage and SHIELD. They could have had the battle in the desert, but I felt like they covered that well with Monica vs Minerva.

How most people think this movie is so great and kick ass, Green Lantern should be praised the same way.

Yup, the movie definitely could’ve used an actual challenging fight for her in the final act. She was just going through anyone and anything like a hot knife on butter. Not very interesting at all.

Her first fight with her hands blocked was more fun to watch.

Also, after Ant-Man and the Wasp having another movie without a definite, formidable villain was a big letdown.

Which is way that Endgame teaser was so sweet. That one teaser was more compelling than anything in the actual movie. But that’s a fit unfair of a comparison.
