While full reviews are embargoed until March 5th, after the film's worldwide premiere Marvel Studios did host its first critics' screening tonight and the early word seems to be exceedingly positive as attendees heaped praise on the latest entry in the greater Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Almost all are in agreement that the film hits all the right notes as far as fun and spectacle go, and also packs more than a few unexpected surprises - although some more mixed reactions do note that the second half does seem to play stronger than its first.
It also seems to be pretty unanimous that Ben Mendelsohn's Skrull villain Talos steals the show and all but solidifies himself as one of the MCU's best villains ever by the time the credits roll, which is certainly welcome news. Plus, Carol's cat Goose also seems to be a big hit, which shouldn't be the least bit surprising.
