Deathstroke vs Deadpool

Deathstroke wins his mind is pretty much a battle computer he'll have counter measures fore all Deadpool's gadgets and weapons.

Savage Dragon vs Scarlet Spider

Scarlet Spider wins he's a clone of Spider-man who fights foes like Rhino so it stands to reason that he could win against Dragon.

Galactus vs Dr.Manhattan

Manhattan for the win.In the past Galactus has lost to guys like Thor and Dr.Strange so it's possible Manhattan could win this.

Scarlet Spider vs Dragon -- man, this would be an AMAZING fight. SS has all of Spider-Man's powers, but Dragon is Spider-Man level in terms of agility, plus he has a healing factor that would make Wolverine jealous, plus he's 3-4 times stronger than SS. I think SS would land more blows, but with Dragon's durability (he's bullet proof as well as having incredible regenerative abilities) I don't think those blows would have much effect. And while Dragon isn't as fast, he does have superior endurance and stamina so he can take shots from SS all day long. I gotta call tie on this one.

Galactus vs Dr. Manhattan -- now this would be interesting. Manhattan exists on a quantum level, but Galactus is almost God-like in his abilities and while occupies a single physical dimension, he can easily access others. Both can manipulate matter and energy, both can create or destroy life, but the Power Cosmic is a type of energy Manhattan has no experience with. Both have been defeated in the past -- Galactus by superhumans, and Doc (if not defeated, then at least tricked) by a regular human. One could say Manhattan has the edge in that he doesn't need to replenish his power source like Galactus, but Galactus can go for centuries without having to replenish (as he did during the creation of the new universe) so that rules out that advantage.

I'm going to give my vote to Galactus, if for no other reason than we've seen him achieve things Manhattan could possibly achieve but was never shown to, and because I think the Power Cosmic would be a new and mysterious energy to Manhattan, and one that he would have to first experience in order to understand how to manipulate it. But if he experiences it, it would probably be the last thing he ever experienced, period.

There are a variety of DC & Marvel characters who would own Doctor Manhattan. And Galactus is one of them. Manhattan's power is way overrated. Get with it people.

I agree with you two

I don't think Manhattan's power is over-rated at all. Granted we were only shown a few examples of what he can do in the books, but the fact that his powers are quantum in nature -- and remember that the basis of quantum physics is that ANYTHING is possible -- then Manhattan could theoretically use his powers to achieve any effect he desired. And I only say "theoretically" because, again, we were only shown limited examples of what he's capable of in the books.

However, Manhattan exists in a universe where there's no such thing as the Power Cosmic. Which is why I said it would be something completely new to him, something he would have no understanding of. Galactus, meanwhile, not only knows the Power Cosmic inside out and backwards, his very being is composed of it. And while I think Galactus could destroy Manhattan, I'm not saying it would be easy. Manhattan has shown his conscience can exist free of his body; in order to truly defeat him, Galactus would have to eradicate his conscience, as well -- which means having to attack Manhattan on more than one dimension of reality. Which Galactus can do, it just takes a real effort on his part.

I think Manhattan is over-rated because though he has all this knowledge, view, power, he lacks the will or desire to do anything about it. That way a human, albeit one of if not the smartest and most skilled humans tricks him. In the book it is once again the story of the quintessential ubermensch versus a "superman". So I think Galactus with a singular focused mind would defeat Dr. Manhattan.

Surfer should have beat Dr. Manhattan, but Galactus would own him quickly.

I have to say fighting Rhino really doesent merit much, granted it SHOULD mean a lot...fighting a guy who's as strong and tough as the Thing should be considered an epic feat. But the thing is, we all know about PIS (Plot Induced Stupidity) and CIS (Character Induced Stupidity) right? You see Rhino's CIS actually works against him, for some reason he gets beat by Luke Cage in a fist fight, although Cage is only barely a 1/3 as strong as Rhino. And gets one-shotted by Captain America (mean no disrespect to Cap, but you have to agree him one shotting a guy on par with Thing is pretty nuts).

I'm actually a big Rhino fan (or at least I try) but the writers have basically made him a big punching bag who loses every fight, they're like "oh, let's make *insert character* seem tough. Have him fight a strong guy like Rhino" now, its gotten to the point where Rhino is just a jobber who literally loses every fight he partakes in.

What I'm saying is, Rhino loses to everyone...even though he shouldn't. The writers have somehow decided to make him the official punching bag of the Marvel Universe.

@lestat104

You know it. As far s universe shattering characters go, Manhattan is a noob, and at best the new kid on the block. He might have an unknown trick or two up his sleeve but his experience with other similarily powered beings would be his undoing. His 'vision' seemed to be focused on tinkering with nuclear devices on earth only to be replaced by his galactic journey which focused on... Mars. Wow.

Have a look at the more informed Surfer vs Manhattan debate which went on over at Comic Vine.

I think Dr. Manhattan is limited by his own human brain. You can have all the power in the universe, but what can you do with it can't comprehend the full potential. Timewis compared to Galacticas Manhattan is just an embryo starting to develop. Let's face it, Galactica's has existed since before the beginning of time and the Big Bang. That experience alone would allow him to own Manhattan.

@Fenix, NO YOU'RE the punching bag of the marvel universe. HA!
LoudLon
LoudLon - 3/30/2013, 10:00 PM
@ Fenix -- they've done the same thing with Juggernaut. There was a time when Juggs was one of THE heaviest hitters in the MU, truly a force to be feared and reckoned with. Now he's just a jobber for any hero they want to make look tough.

And yeah, as much as I love Cap (he's my absolute favorite comic book character) no way could he one-shot Rhino.

Say, where'd last night's polls go? I know they were there, I voted and replied.

What gives, yo?

@LoudLon
For some reason, they moved it to Fan Fic. Idk why they did, the next poll will come tomorrow seeing as I'm busy today (Easter) and can't get to a computer to post the article.

Yeah, I agree about Juggernaut though. He's just one of those guys they use to make their new character seem tough. I guess it's just because Juggs and Rhino aren't as popular as all of the other characters and therefore they must job to them.

Like I said I try to be a Rhino fan like I always have. But it's tough when one of your favorites literally can never win a fight nowadays, and it makes you wonder why you liked them in the first place.
